What they need
About the Role
Walker Music is looking for a calm, organised, focused and reliable freelance administration and founder support provider to support the day-to-day running of a small independent music consultancy.
This is an grant-funded freelance support role, designed to provide practical administration, organisation and operational support to a neurodivergent founder/director.
The role is a 1:1 support position and is initially fully in-person from a home office in Darley Abbey, Derbyshire. Remote flexibility may be considered on a case-by-case basis after the initial review period, once the working relationship, systems and responsibilities are established.
The core purpose of the role is to create structure, clarity and follow-through around a busy, fast-moving workload. The right person will help make the working day more efficient, add practical capacity to the business, and support things moving forward without creating more management load.
This role is small in hours but important in trust, consistency, reliability and the right working energy.
About the Business
Walker Music is an independent dance music consultancy working across the electronic music industry, including events, artist management, bookings, creative direction, business strategy, consulting and coaching. Originally founded in the USA, the business is now in it's second year of operation as a single person run, UK ltd company.
Current areas of work include internal business operations, artist and client projects, coaching, research and ad hoc project support.
The business is creative, ambitious, fast-moving and founder-led, with a strong focus on quality, innovation and meaningful work within the dance music community.
Role Focus
This role is primarily about practical administration, organisation and founder support.
It would suit someone who genuinely enjoys admin, detail, systems, structure and behind-the-scenes business support. The right person will take pride in creating order, keeping things moving and helping a creative business operate more smoothly.
Trust is essential. This person will be working closely with the founder in a small, professional yet creative environment, where discretion, good judgement and emotional intelligence matter as much as task completion.
This is not a short-term stepping stone into artist management, talent buying, event programming or music industry networking. It is a trusted support role for someone looking for a consistent, part-time, long-term freelance position.
Hours and Rate
Hours:
Up to 8 hours per week, initially across 3 days, subject to workload, fit and agreed availability.
Rate:
Starting from £15 per hour, depending on experience and agreed scope.
This is a freelance/self-employed role. Services will be invoiced monthly based on agreed hours worked.

- Creating or editing simple templates
- Supporting content calendars
- Creating basic branded assets
- Organising visual materials
- Helping documents look clean and professional
This is a valuable bonus, but the core need is administration, organisation and business support.
About You
You are organised, calm, reliable, discreet and practical.
You genuinely enjoy administration and behind-the-scenes support work. You understand that strong admin, clear systems and careful follow-through are valuable skills in their own right.
You are comfortable working directly with one founder/director in a small business and understand what it means to work in a professional yet creative environment. You do not need a large team, corporate structure or perfectly built system around you in order to get started.
You can take information that may feel messy, fast-moving or incomplete and help turn it into something clearer, calmer and more usable.
You are proactive without being overwhelming. You can work independently, ask good questions, notice what needs doing, and understand when something needs checking before moving forward.
Because this role is based from a home office, the right person will bring a positive, steady and supportive presence into the working environment. A warm attitude, good energy and a solutions-focused mindset are important.
