Freelance Audio Editor

The opportunity

SIDE is looking for a Freelance Audio Editor to support our Post-Production team across a variety of game projects.

Audio Editors play an important role in SIDE's Post-Production pipeline, independently editing dialogue and completing technical and administrative tasks to a consistently high standard.

You'll work closely with the Post team to help deliver projects against deadlines and milestones, while ensuring processed audio meets project instructions, technical specifications and SIDE's quality standards.

What you'll be doing

As a Freelance Audio Editor, you will:

• Independently edit dialogue across a variety of game projects, delivering consistently high-quality audio.
• Carry out dialogue editing, dialogue design and mastering.
• Work within project-specific timing constraints.
• Import audio files into DAW sessions and provide additional technical editing support required by the Post-Production team.
• Follow project-specific instructions accurately to ensure processed audio can be ingested smoothly into the next stage of production.
• Troubleshoot audio issues and ensure deliverables meet the required technical specifications.
• Maintain clear and consistent communication with batch assignees.
• Identify and report issues that could affect delivery timelines, progress or audio quality.
• Clearly communicate your availability to take on work.
• Keep your personal availability tracker accurate and up to date.

What we're looking for

You'll need proficiency with the following software and tools:

• WAV-file audio editors, preferably Adobe Audition and/or iZotope RX
• Avid Pro Tools
• Reaper

You'll also bring:

• Good technical troubleshooting ability.
• Strong time-management and organisational skills.
• Clear, reliable and consistent communication.
