Freelance Head Chef

Job Summary

Freelance/Self Employed Head chef for a wedding venue in Shrewsbury, Shropshire**.**

Pay per hour (to be invoiced to the venue): £25.00-£30.00 skill/experience dependant.

Weddings are booked months in advance, therefore required shifts/workload etc can be agreed/discussed in advance. The venue hosts between 70-90 weddings each year.

Duties

• Lead and supervise kitchen staff to ensure efficient food preparation and service
• Oversee all aspects of food production, from ingredient sourcing to presentation
• Maintain strict adherence to food safety regulations and hygiene standards
• Manage kitchen operations, including inventory control, ordering supplies, and waste reduction
• Train team members in cooking techniques, food safety protocols, and service standards
• Collaborate with clients or event organisers to customize menus and ensure guest satisfaction

Skills

• Proven supervising experience in fast-paced culinary environments
• Extensive culinary experience with a strong background in food preparation and cooking techniques
• Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage diverse teams effectively
• Solid understanding of kitchen operations, food safety practices, and hygiene standards
• Experience in food production for various settings such as restaurants, events, or catering services
• Excellent communication skills to coordinate with team members and clients
• Passion for hospitality with a focus on delivering memorable dining experiences

Pay: £25.00-£30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 1.0 – 30.0 per week
