Freelance Retail Project Managers

The Freelance Retail Project Manager is a flexible role, where you are responsible for overseeing one of max 3 retail construction projects from initial planning through completion. Day-to-day tasks include coordinating timelines, budgets, and resources; managing subcontractors and suppliers; and ensuring work is delivered to brand standards, local regulations, and Viceroys’ quality benchmarks.

The role involves regular site visits, progress monitoring, and proactive issue resolution to keep projects on schedule and within budget. You will collaborate closely with clients, architects, designers, and internal teams, providing clear updates, addressing changes, and aligning construction activities with store opening or refurbishment milestones. This position requires a practical, solution-focused mindset, strong communication, and the ability to adapt to evolving project requirements in a dynamic retail environment.

Qualifications

• Strong project management capabilities, including project planning and end-to-end coordination of retail construction projects.
• Demonstrated analytical skills to interpret plans, identify risks, and make data-informed decisions throughout the project lifecycle.
• Experience with budgeting, cost control, and financial tracking for multi-phase construction or fit-out projects.
• Excellent communication skills for collaborating with clients, internal teams, and external partners, and for producing clear reports and updates.

Nice to have

• Previous experience in retail construction, shopfitting, or commercial interiors, preferably with premium or branded environments is nice to have.
• Familiarity with CAD or construction scheduling software is an advantage.
• Self-directed, organized, and detail-oriented, with a focus on quality, reliability, and long-term client relationships.
• Relevant education or certification in construction management, engineering, architecture, or a related field is preferred.
