Freelance Spanish Interpreter

As we continue to grow, we are in need of qualified interpreters to join our dedicated team in Bloomington and Peoria, Illinois and the surrounding area . As a medical interpreter with Metaphrasis Language & Cultural Solutions, you will assist our healthcare clients in providing quality medical care while improving service outcomes for all, through accurate, complete and professional on-site interpreting.

Interpreters with proof of training and strong proficiency in the languages below are encouraged to apply. The candidate must also possess strong linguistic skills, interpretation techniques, understanding of broad medical terminology, adherence to the National Code of Ethics for Interpreting in Healthcare, and comply with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).

Factors for consideration as independent contractor:

• Minimum of 40 hours of consolidated training in the field of interpreting in medical settings
• Proof of work eligibility status in the United States
• Able to provide proof of immunizations/vaccinations for compliance with healthcare clients
• Strong proficiency in native language and English, with comprehension of medical terminology
• Interpreter must demonstrate professional demeanor, attitude, punctuality and adhere to each client’s policies
• Maintain a desire for professional growth in the interpreting industry
• Be available during, before, and after business hours
• Occasional willingness to travel to various facilities in the Bloomington and Peoria area &/or suburbs

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $30.00 - $45.00 per hour
