Uber AI Solutions engages independent language specialists to provide high-quality linguistic data and evaluation services for AI system development. This is a B2B service opportunity for independent contractors.

We are looking for beginner to native-level Japanese speakers (ja-JP) who can support the development of AI technologies through language-related tasks. Assignments may vary depending on project requirements, and contractors may be invited to participate in one or more projects based on their skills, experience, and availability.

Project Tasks

The scope of the services may include:

• Translate content between Japanese and English .
• Review AI-generated content for linguistic, grammatical, cultural, and contextual accuracy against project specifications.
• Compare and evaluate AI-generated responses based on provided quality parameters.
• Perform audio transcription and annotation in alignment with project requirements and deliverables.
• Identify linguistic, cultural, or contextual issues in AI-generated content.
• Provide feedback to help improve AI-generated responses and language models.

Requirements

• Beginner to Native-level proficiency in Japanese (ja-JP) .
• Proficiency in English sufficient to understand technical project specifications, instructions, and deliverables.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to understand Japanese language nuances, cultural context, and natural expressions.
• Comfortable using a laptop/computer and web-based tools.
• Previous experience in translation, transcription, linguistic annotation, AI evaluation, data labeling, or related fields is an advantage but is not required for all projects.
• Ability to work independently and meet project deadlines.

Engagement Details

• Work Location: Remote
• Engagement Type: Independent Contractor / Freelance
• Schedule: Flexible. Contractors choose when they complete assigned work, subject to project availability and deadlines.
• Compensation & Earnings: Flexible, task-based pay with earnings typically ranging up to US$ 36 per hour . The exact rate depends on the specific project parameters, task complexity, and required skills, allowing you to scale your workload flexibly alongside your schedule.
