What they need

Engagement: Freelance, per shoot, no fixed hours. Shoots take place on location around [City], including client offices, cafés, clinics, hotels and sites, so you'll need to be based there. Our team is in Singapore (GMT+8), so you'll need to be reachable for briefings and feedback during our working day.

Who we are

Kuubiik Studio is an integrated marketing agency. We work with ambitious Singapore and APAC businesses, from founder-led companies to regional marketing teams, across finance, technology, skincare, hospitality, F&B and the built environment.

We're curious, opinionated and slightly allergic to "good enough." We care about the wrong shade of red, the campaign that isn't converting and the client question nobody has answered yet. Some of our clients are large and cautious. Others are founders who reply on WhatsApp at midnight. Many have stayed with us for years because we tell them what we think will move their business, even when it's not what they expected to hear.

The role

You'll shoot social-first video for our client brands: content that feels native to TikTok and Reels, but is shot with a professional eye. No crews, no call sheets, no three-day productions. It's usually you, a small kit, and someone who isn't an actor and needs you to get something real out of them.

That's the skill we're hiring for. You'll direct founders, staff, chefs, customers and creators, making them comfortable on camera and getting a take that feels unscripted even when it isn't. You'll work with our creative director, video editor, copywriter and account team.

We're not looking for someone to follow a shot list. We're looking for someone who gets to know each brand well enough to have a view on it. That means:

  • Understanding what a client's business is trying to achieve
  • Spotting the moments and stories worth filming that nobody put in the brief
  • Bringing ideas before anyone asks
  • Arguing for them with reasons
  • Checking what actually held attention
  • Coming back with the next thing to shoot

If you've ever turned a stiff, nervous interviewee into your best take of the day, you'll fit in here.

What you'll do

  • Shoot vertical, social-first video: talking heads, behind the scenes, product demos, day-in-the-life, street interviews and trend formats
  • Direct non-actors on camera, including coaching delivery, setting people at ease and getting natural reactions
  • Plan light shoots: simple shot lists, hooks and the key moments to capture
  • Shoot with the edit in mind, capturing hooks, B-roll and alternate takes so our editor can cut multiple versions for testing
  • Keep the look UGC-authentic but polished: good light, clean audio, steady framing, never over-produced
  • Stay close to what's working on TikTok and Reels in your market, and bring formats that fit each brand
  • Look at how your content performs, and use it to shape the next shoot

On AI

We want someone who's genuinely curious about AI tools, whether for scripting ideas, shot planning, trend research or clean-up in post. Try the new thing the week it drops, find out what it's good at, and bring it back to the team.

Curiosity alone isn't enough, though. UGC works because it feels real, so the real skill is knowing the guardrails:

  • Using AI to plan faster, not to fake authenticity
  • Keeping every piece true to the brand and the people in it
  • Knowing when a tool makes the content better, and when it makes it look like an ad

What you need

  • Solid experience shooting social-first video for brands, with a reel that feels native to TikTok and Reels
  • Confidence directing real people, not actors, and making them good on camera
  • Fluency in [local language(s)] and English, so you can direct local talent and brief our Singapore team
  • Your own compact kit: a mirrorless camera and/or a recent iPhone, a gimbal, wireless mics and portable lighting
  • Strong instincts for framing, light and clean audio in real-world locations
  • Agency or multi-brand experience, switching styles between a bank and a bubble tea brand in the same week
  • The judgment to work independently on set, and the confidence to disagree well

Nice to have

  • Basic editing, especially quick turnarounds in CapCut or on your phone
  • Comfort appearing on camera yourself
  • Experience with creator-led or social-first brands

How to apply

Send us:

  1. Your reel of social-first work. Add a short breakdown of what you did on each piece: shoot, direct, edit.
  2. One piece where you directed someone who wasn't a natural on camera, and a line on how you got the take.
  3. One or two experiments you're proud of. They don't have to have worked. We're as interested in what you were trying to find out as in how it turned out.
  4. Your kit list.

Other offers great for you!
