Duties

• Coordinate and dispatch freight shipments efficiently using transportation management systems and vehicle dispatch software.
• Communicate proactively with carriers, drivers, and clients via multi-line phone systems and phone call management tools to confirm schedules and resolve issues promptly.
• Monitor GPS and GIS data to track vehicle locations, optimize routes, and ensure timely deliveries aligned with transportation planning strategies.
• Manage shipping & receiving documentation accurately through data entry into logistics platforms like Oracle Transportation Management and AS400.
• Ensure compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations by maintaining proper documentation and adhering to safety standards during dispatching activities.
• Collaborate with internal teams through effective internal communication channels to coordinate logistics operations and resolve operational challenges swiftly.
• Maintain organized records of freight movements, vehicle statuses, and dispatch logs while providing exceptional customer service through professional phone etiquette and clear communication.

Experience

• Proven experience in road transportation operations, logistics, or supply chain management.
• Familiarity with transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management or Vehicle Dispatch Software.
• Strong understanding of DOT regulations, shipping & receiving procedures, and fleet management practices.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel for data analysis and reporting purposes.
• Experience utilizing GPS, GIS mapping tools, and transportation planning software to enhance dispatch efficiency.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Effective communication skills for phone call management, internal collaboration, and customer service interactions.
