Title: Experienced Freight Forwarder

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced freight forwarder with import / export / ocean & airfreight experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the daily management of shipments moving by ocean and air . Duties will include but are not limited to providing quotes, making booking with carriers and airlines, coordinating pick up and deliveries, customs clearance, and handling other facets of international shipping. We need someone who is able to manage shipments from Quoting (with guidance) to closing the file. Must have knowledge of Import / Export process and compliance steps.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate International and Domestic shipments from A to Z, ensuring that they are transported safely and efficiently.
• Pricing/Quoting experience for all modes (ocean, air, rail, LCL, FCL, ground)
• Work with ocean carriers, airlines, truckers and other service providers to ensure that shipments are picked up and delivered on time.
• Must provide a high level of Service and communication to our customers, provide daily updates and shipment status
• Prepare and process all necessary documentation for international shipments, such as customs declarations , bills of lading, delivery orders etc.
• Manage and track inventory levels, and coordinate with vendors and suppliers to ensure that adequate inventory is available for shipment.
• Continuously monitor transportation costs and identify opportunities for cost savings.
• Billing final charges out to appropriate parties to close out and complete file in a timely manner, while making sure the file AR/AP is accurate.
• Must be able to work quickly and efficiently

Ideal Qualifications:

• Must have a minimum of 3-4 years of experience in full service freight forwarding.
• Must have Knowledge of international Import / Export Ocean and Air shipping regulations and US Customs requirements.
• Must have experience with ocean and airfreight.
• Strong communication, organization and negotiation skills.
• Must be a self starter with the ability to work independently, make decisions with little to no micromanagement.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and logistics software.
• Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field preferred.

Salary: The salary for this position will be in the range of $ 55,000.00 - $ 75,000 depending on the candidate's level of experience and qualifications. Must be able to demonstrate skills and knowledge.

This position is for someone who has worked for a full-service freight forwarding company and not someone who is looking to break into the freight forwarding industry. We are looking for someone who can come in and after some training on our systems and processes, can hit the ground running taking on a full workload.
