Freight Forwarding Agent, Aerospace

This job is for you who are passionate about air freight operations and want to take the next step into the specialised world of aerospace logistics. As part of our growing Aerospace Logistics team in Germany, you will work with time-critical shipments that help keep aircraft moving and customers operating worldwide. Some of the cargo you handle may include aircraft components, aviation equipment and urgent operational shipments where precision, speed and proactive communication make all the difference.

We are experiencing strong growth within Aerospace Logistics and are looking for additional colleagues to join our team in Cologne. Whether you already have experience from the aerospace industry or come from a strong background in air freight forwarding, import/export operations or customs, we would like to hear from you.

About The Role As a Freight Forwarding Agent, Aerospace, you will be responsible for managing international shipments from booking through to final delivery. Working closely with customers, airlines, customs authorities, suppliers and colleagues across our global network, you will help ensure that critical cargo reaches its destination safely, efficiently and on time.

You will be part of a specialised logistics environment where operational excellence, attention to detail and customer focus are essential. While aerospace experience is valuable, we believe that talented air freight professionals can successfully transition into this industry and develop their expertise alongside experienced colleagues.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Coordinating international aerospace and air freight shipments
• Managing export and import operations across global trade lanes
• Supporting customers with time-critical transportation requirements
• Booking freight with airlines and selecting the most suitable transport solutions
• Coordinating with customs authorities and handling customs formalities
• Monitoring shipments proactively and ensuring clear communication with all stakeholders
• Preparing and validating shipping and transport documentation
• Working closely with international Blue Water offices, partners and suppliers
• Maintaining operational control from collection through to final delivery

Candidate Profile & Qualifications You may already have experience within aerospace logistics, but this is not a requirement.

More importantly, you understand the dynamics of international air freight operations and enjoy working in an environment where priorities can change quickly. You are structured, service-minded and motivated by delivering high-quality solutions for customers.

We imagine that you have:

• Experience within air freight forwarding, export or import operations
• Knowledge of customs processes and international transportation documentation
• Experience coordinating shipments with airlines, agents or global freight networks
• Strong organisational and communication skills
• A proactive and solution-oriented approach
• The ability to remain calm and focused in a dynamic operational environment
• Good English communication skills
• German language skills are highly desirable

The following will be considered an advantage:

• Aerospace logistics experience
• Experience with aircraft components or aviation-related cargo
• Knowledge of AOG (Aircraft on Ground) operations
