About the role

We are seeking a Airfreight Forwarding Operation Manager to join our dynamic team at our Sepang, Selangor facility. This is a full-time position that plays a vital strategic role in overseeing and optimising our freight forwarding operations. As Operation Manager, you will be responsible for managing day-to-day logistics operations, ensuring compliance with international cargo regulations, maximising operational efficiency, and maintaining the highest standards of customer service. This role is essential to our mission of delivering reliable and cost-effective freight forwarding solutions to our clients.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee and manage all freight forwarding operations including air cargo and land transport to ensure timely and accurate delivery
• Supervise and coordinate the work of operational staff, including booking agents, customs brokers, and warehouse personnel
• Monitor shipment documentation, compliance with customs regulations, and adherence to international shipping standards
• Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs
• Liaise with clients, airlines, and customs authorities to ensure smooth operations and resolve any issues
• Track and manage shipment movements, providing clients with regular updates and status reports
• Manage transit warehouse operations, inventory control, and cargo handling procedures
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement cost-saving measures without compromising service quality
• Ensure compliance with company policies, international and local freight forwarding requirements
• Prepare operational reports and performance metrics for senior management
• Handle customer complaints and ensure resolution to maintain client satisfaction and retention

What we're looking for

• Minimum 4-5 years of experience in freight forwarding operations or a related logistics field
• Strong knowledge of air cargo and customs clearance procedures
• Proficiency in freight forwarding software systems and Microsoft Office applications
• Proven leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff
• Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills in English;
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities simultaneously
• Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to delivering exceptional service
• Experience in a busy, high-volume freight forwarding environment is highly desirable
