FREIGHT FORWARDING OPERATIONS MANAGER

Job Summary

The Freight Forwarding Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the end-to-end freight forwarding operations of Sendiva Logistics Corp., ensuring the efficient and timely movement of shipments from origin booking through final delivery.

The position manages sea, air, and domestic freight operations, including import and export processes, carrier coordination, documentation, warehousing, shipment monitoring, and delivery arrangements. The role ensures that all customer and shipment requirements are clearly communicated to carriers and service providers and that operational requirements are consistently met.

The Freight Forwarding Operations Manager will also proactively monitor daily operations, resolve shipment-related issues, optimize logistics processes, and ensure compliance with company policies, customer requirements, and applicable customs and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee the end-to-end freight forwarding operations for ocean, air, and domestic shipments.
• Coordinate shipment bookings, documentation, cargo movement, customs clearance, delivery, and final shipment completion.
• Supervise and monitor import and export operations, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with applicable requirements.
• Coordinate with shipping lines, airlines, trucking companies, customs brokers, warehouses, and other logistics service providers.
• Communicate shipment requirements, special handling instructions, schedules, and service expectations to carriers and service providers.
• Ensure that carriers and logistics partners are capable of meeting required shipment specifications, timelines, and service standards.
• Monitor shipment status and proactively address delays, exceptions, operational issues, and customer concerns.
• Oversee daily sea, air, road, and warehousing activities and ensure smooth coordination among all operational functions.
• Review and ensure the completeness and accuracy of shipping and operational documents.
• Coordinate with the Customs team and other relevant parties to facilitate timely customs processing and cargo release.
• Monitor cargo movement, delivery schedules, and proof of delivery to ensure shipments are completed within agreed timelines.
• Identify operational risks and implement appropriate corrective and preventive actions.
• Maintain effective communication with customers and internal departments regarding shipment status, requirements, and operational concerns.
• Monitor the performance of carriers, service providers, and other third-party logistics partners.
• Develop and implement operational improvements to increase efficiency, reduce delays, and improve service quality.
• Ensure compliance with Sendiva Logistics Corp. policies, standard operating procedures, customer requirements, and applicable laws and regulations.
• Prepare and submit operational reports, performance updates, and other management reports as required.
• Lead, supervise, and provide guidance to the freight forwarding operations team.
• Perform other related duties and responsibilities that may be assigned by management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Customs Administration, Customs Management, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• At least 3-5 years of relevant experience in freight forwarding, logistics, shipping, import/export operations, or a related field.
• Strong working knowledge of ocean, air, and domestic freight operations.
• Knowledge of import/export procedures, customs documentation, shipment coordination, and logistics processes.
• Strong coordination, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple shipments, priorities, and operational concerns simultaneously.
• Detail-oriented with strong follow-through and time-management skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Demonstrated ability to supervise and coordinate with internal teams, customers, carriers, brokers, and third-party service providers.
• Willing to work on-site and according to the operational requirements of the company.
• Willing to work beyond regular hours when operational requirements or urgent shipment concerns arise, when necessary.
