Freight Operations General Manager

1. Operations Management
   -Lead and manage overall freight forwarding operations, including Air Freight, Sea Freight, Import, Export, and Customs Clearance.
   -Ensure smooth and efficient day-to-day operations and timely cargo movement.
   -Monitor operational performance, service quality, and productivity.
   -Establish and improve standard operating procedures (SOPs) and operational processes.
   -Handle and resolve critical operational issues, delays, claims, and customer escalations.

2. Strategic Planning & Business Performance
   -Develop and implement operational strategies in line with the company's business objectives.
   -Set departmental targets and KPIs and monitor overall performance.
   -Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and profitability.
   -Support business growth through operational capability and service improvement.
   -Prepare operational reports and presentations for senior management.

3. Financial & Cost Management
   -Manage operational budgets and control operating costs.
   -Monitor profitability and financial performance of freight operations.
   -Identify opportunities for cost reduction and process optimization.
   -Work closely with commercial and finance teams to improve margins and operational performance.
   -Review pricing-related operational costs and supplier expenses.

4. Customer & Vendor Management
   -Maintain strong relationships with key customers, airlines, shipping lines, agents, and other logistics partners.
   -Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and service quality.
   -Manage escalated customer complaints and develop appropriate solutions.
   -Negotiate and manage relationships with key suppliers and overseas agents.

5. Compliance & Risk Management
   -Ensure all freight operations comply with relevant laws, regulations, customs requirements, and company policies.
   -Maintain compliance with industry standards and international shipping requirements.
   -Identify operational risks and implement appropriate preventive and corrective actions.
   -Ensure proper documentation and records management.

6. Team Leadership & People Management
   -Lead, coach, and develop Operations Managers, Supervisors, and operational teams.
   -Establish clear responsibilities, KPIs, and performance expectations.
   -Develop succession and talent development plans for key operational positions.
   -Promote a strong culture of teamwork, accountability, customer service, and continuous improvement.
   -Support workforce planning and manpower optimization.

7. Process Improvement & Digitalization
   -Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and service quality.
   -Identify opportunities for automation and digitalization within freight operations.
   -Implement best practices and standardized operational procedures.
   -Monitor industry trends and recommend improvements to management

Job Qualifications:
-Bachelor's degree or higher in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, International Business, or a related field.
-Minimum 12–15 years of experience in freight forwarding, logistics, or international transportation.
-At least 5 years of experience in a senior management or General Manager-level role.
-Strong knowledge of Air Freight and/or Sea Freight operations, including Import and Export procedures.
-Strong understanding of customs regulations, international shipping documentation, and freight forwarding processes.
-Experience managing large operational teams and multiple departments.
-Strong experience in operational planning, cost management, and KPI management.
-Excellent leadership and people management skills.
-Strong problem-solving, negotiation, and decision-making abilities.
-Good command of English, both written and spoken
