Freight Operator

Freight Operator – Full Time | Manly $70,000 – $80,000 + Super | Monday – Friday | 8:30am – 5:00pm

We are seeking a reliable, organised and proactive Freight Operator to join a well-established international freight forwarding team based in Manly.

This is a hands-on, all-rounder role where you will manage the full shipment process for both imports and exports. You will be the main point of contact for customers and work closely with shipping lines, airlines, transport providers and overseas agents to keep shipments moving smoothly.

International freight forwarding experience is preferred but not essential. Full on-the-job training will be provided to the right candidate. This is an office-based role — you will be required to work from the Manly office five days a week.

What you’ll be doing

• Act as the primary point of contact for import and export customers
• Process and manage documentation accurately and on time
• Coordinate bookings with customers, shipping lines, airlines and transport providers
• Liaise with overseas offices and agent networks
• Proactively update customers and partners on shipment progress and any issues
• Handle customer queries and resolve operational matters
• Manage invoicing and the full invoice process
• Maintain accurate records and database administration
• Provide backup support to the rest of the team as needed

What we’re looking for

• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Confident and professional on email and phone
• High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
• Ability to manage multiple shipments and prioritise effectively
• Self-motivated and comfortable working autonomously
• A proactive, solutions-focused approach
• Knowledge of Tradewindow is advantageous but not required
• Full and unrestricted working rights in Australia
