Freight Operator

The role involves:

• Coordinating shipments from booking through to delivery.
• Liaising with UK customers, overseas agents, hauliers, and shipping lines.
• Proactively chasing shipment updates and keeping customers informed.
• Managing shipping documentation and operational administration.
• Monitoring costs, checking profitability, and maintaining accurate records.
• Using Excel and spreadsheets to organise workloads, rates, and bookings.
• Identifying potential problems and resolving them independently.
• Maintaining and developing excellent customer relationships

The Ideal Candidate

Attitude and ability are important

Freight forwarding experience would be advantageous, but we’re open to candidates from logistics, transport, supply chain, or other customer-focused operational backgrounds.

We’re particularly looking for someone who demonstrates:

• A natural ability to build strong customer relationships.
• Commercial awareness and confidence working with figures.
• Strong Excel skills and a methodical approach to work.

The Team

The successful candidate will join a small, experienced team of three within a much larger, successful freight forwarding company.

We have excellent office morale and particularly strong relationships with our customers. We’re looking for someone personable, dependable, and enthusiastic who will make a positive contribution to the team.

Pay: £30,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
