Freight Specialist

About the role

This role involves preparing, analyzing, and providing competitive freight quotations for air, sea, and land shipments in import/export operations. You will evaluate and negotiate freight rates with carriers, shipping lines, and overseas agents to ensure cost efficiency and profitability, while maintaining updated rate sheets and coordinating with internal teams to deliver accurate quotations.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, analyze, and provide competitive freight quotations for air, sea, and land shipments (import/export)
• Evaluate and negotiate freight rates with carriers, shipping lines, and overseas agents to ensure cost efficiency and profitability
• Maintain updated rate sheets and tariffs from various shipping and airline partners
• Coordinate closely with the Sales, Operations, and Procurement teams to ensure accuracy and timely delivery of quotations
• Support the Sales team by providing quick and accurate rate proposals to meet client requirements
• Monitor market trends, carrier surcharges, and seasonal rate fluctuations to ensure competitiveness
• Maintain a strong relationship with international agents and partners for rate inquiries and negotiations
• Ensure all quotations comply with company policies, client agreements, and profit margin guidelines
• Review shipment details to confirm correct costing before final booking
• Prepare and update rate comparison reports for management decision-making

About you

• Bachelor's degree in Customs Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or any related field
• 1–2 years of experience in freight forwarding, logistics, or pricing; fresh graduates are also encouraged to apply
• Solid understanding of international shipping procedures, Incoterms, and freight rate structures
• Skilled in vendor and carrier negotiation, as well as cost analysis
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other analytical or reporting tools
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities
• Highly detail-oriented, organized, and able to perform effectively under pressure and tight deadlines
