About the Role

This is a varied customer-facing role focused on providing prompt, accurate, and professional service across the front counter, phone, and email.

You’ll be responsible for assisting customers with enquiries, preparing quotes, processing sales, and taking payments.

You’ll also help keep day-to-day operations moving by picking and packing orders, replenishing stock, and keeping the front counter organised and well presented.

You’ll work closely with the wider sales and warehouse team to ensure customers receive the right products the first time, and orders are completed efficiently, every time.

• Customers are served promptly, accurately and professionally

• Quotes and sales are completed with a high level of attention to detail

• Customer enquiries are responded to efficiently across phone, email and the counter

• Orders are picked and packed correctly

• Stock is replenished, organised and easy to access

• The front counter remains clean, professional and well presented

• The team can rely on you to take initiative and follow through on tasks

Key Responsibilities

Customer Service & Sales

• Assist customers at the counter, over the phone and by email

• Identify customer needs, recommend products and prepare accurate quotes

• Process sales, EFT and cash payments accurately

• Build strong product knowledge and deliver prompt, professional service

 

Order Preparation & Stock

• Pick, pack and check customer orders accurately

• Replenish stock and fast-moving products

• Keep stock organised, labelled and easy to access

• Work with the warehouse team to maintain product availability and a well-presented front counter

 

Skills & Experience

• Hardware or building supplies experience preferred, but not essential

• Customer service or sales experience highly regarded

• Current driver’s licence - essential

• Forklift licence/ticket - advantageous

• Strong attention to detail and organisation

• Confident communicator with good customer service skills

• Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling
