What they need

The Front Desk Associate creates a welcoming experience for every member and guest while helping grow memberships and maintain a clean, organized facility.

This is an active, hands-on role. Member service, membership sales, lead follow-up, and facility cleaning are regular responsibilities of every Front Desk Associate. Associates rotate between front desk coverage and assigned facility tasks throughout their shifts.

Member Experience & Front Desk Operations

  • Greet members and guests warmly, learn names, and build positive relationships.
  • Assist with check-in, verify membership access, and follow guest procedures.
  • Answer phones and explain memberships, amenities, schedules, and policies accurately.
  • Process memberships, purchases, and payments using approved procedures.
  • Help resolve routine questions and communicate concerns requiring management assistance.
  • Keep member records, tour logs, and shift notes accurate and current.
  • Follow opening and closing procedures and provide clear shift handoffs.

Membership Sales & Follow-Up

  • Ask guests about their goals and interests to recommend an appropriate membership.
  • Conduct engaging facility tours tailored to each guest’s needs.
  • Explain approved pricing, benefits, and promotions clearly, then ask for the membership sale.
  • Discuss upgrades when additional amenities fit a member’s interests.
  • Follow up with assigned leads, trial-pass guests, and visitors who have not joined.
  • Promote the refer-a-friend program and follow referral verification and reporting procedures.
  • Validate trial-pass eligibility and properly log completed tours in the computer.
  • Introduce personal training and other available programs; connect interested members with the appropriate team.
  • Work toward established individual and team sales goals while maintaining honest, respectful service.
  • Document contacts, tours, sales, and follow-up outcomes in the designated system.

Cleaning & Facility Care

  • Complete assigned daily cleaning tasks and document completion.
  • Perform and initial hourly care checks throughout the facility.
  • Clean locker rooms, restrooms, showers, and designated member spaces.
  • Wipe equipment, benches, handles, frames, and bases; remove visible dust.
  • Sweep, vacuum, spot vacuum around equipment, and mop designated areas.
  • Empty trash and replenish soap, paper products, wipes, and other supplies.
  • Re-rack weights, organize equipment, and keep walkways clear.
  • Assist with towel service, laundry, and facility resets.
  • Maintain a clean, stocked front desk, lobby, and concessions area.
  • Report hazards, broken equipment, maintenance concerns, and low supplies promptly.
  • Use approved cleaning products and follow required safety and equipment-care procedures.

Cleaning is part of the Front Desk Associate position—not limited to keeping the desk tidy. Tasks are assigned throughout the shift, with coverage coordinated so the front desk remains attended.

Qualifications

  • Friendly, dependable, and comfortable initiating conversations.
  • Willing to sell memberships, ask for the sale, and follow up with prospects.
  • Willing to clean all assigned areas, including restrooms and locker rooms.
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Comfortable using computers and managing multiple priorities.
  • Customer service or sales experience preferred; fitness-industry experience is a plus.
  • Able to perform essential duties with reasonable accommodation.

Performance Expectations

Success is measured through member service, sales and follow-up activity, accurate documentation, completed cleaning assignments, and reliable attendance.

Associates are expected to take initiative, follow established procedures, support teammates, and help keep TB Fitness ready for every member’s visit.
