Job Title: Medical Assistant

Hours: Mon – 11:30-6pm, Tues – 8:30-5:30pm, Wed – 8:30-5:30pm, Thurs – 9:30-5:30pm, Fri – 8:30-3:30pm

Pay/Salary: $16-18/hr (depending on experience with yearly advancement)

Job Duties:

-Front Desk Duties - Checking patients in/out for appointments, Collecting copays and other payments, Verifying insurance eligibility, Entering and updating patient/insurance/payment information into electronic medical record (EMR),

-Answering telephone and triaging calls or recording messages in EMR

-Completing Medication Prior Authorizations

-Sorting Faxes in EMR

-Coordination of Care – calling patients after hospitalizations or ED visits to check-in and schedule follow-up appointments, reminders regarding recommended medical care, medications, and vaccinations, communication between pharmacy regarding refills and prior authorizations

-Clinical Duties – confirming patient history points, checking vital signs, performing EKGs – includes entering all data into electronic medical record

Description:

We are a busy, private medical practice seeking a quick-thinking learner with an interest in a long-term commitment. The medical assistant position at our practice is a versatile one. The individual would join a group dedicated to providing the best possible patient care. Duties would remain consistent with some variation here-and-there. We train all staff ourselves including how to use our EMR, how to verify insurance eligibility, and all of our work flows. We will also teach how to take vital signs, to administer immunizations, to perform EKGs. No prior experience is required but it is, of course, welcome.
