Front Desk Receptionist

Job Overview

We are seeking a friendly, professional, and detail-oriented Front Desk Receptionist to join our team at Mary Alice. As the first point of contact for our customers, you will play an essential role in creating a welcoming, positive, and efficient experience for everyone who walks through our doors.

The ideal candidate is personable, organized, dependable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced retail environment. This position requires excellent customer service skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to multitask while maintaining compliance with cannabis industry regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Warmly greet and welcome customers, creating a friendly and professional first impression.
• Verify customer identification to ensure compliance with California cannabis regulations and company policies.
• Manage customer check-ins and maintain an organized, efficient reception process.
• Answer incoming phone calls, respond to general inquiries, and direct customers to the appropriate team members.
• Accurately enter and maintain customer information in company systems.
• Communicate effectively with sales floor staff to ensure a smooth customer experience.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting reception area.
• Assist with administrative tasks, including filing, organizing documents, and maintaining records.
• Follow company procedures, security protocols, and applicable cannabis regulations.
• Support management and team members with additional tasks as needed.

Qualifications & Skills

• Customer Service: A positive, outgoing personality with a genuine passion for helping people.
• Communication: Strong verbal communication skills and professional phone etiquette.
• Attention to Detail: Ability to accurately verify identification, enter information, and follow established procedures.
• Multitasking: Comfortable managing multiple responsibilities in a busy environment.
• Organization: Strong time management skills and the ability to maintain an efficient workspace.
• Teamwork: Ability to work independently while contributing to a supportive, team-oriented environment.
• Technical Skills: Basic computer proficiency and the ability to quickly learn new software systems.
• Experience: Previous receptionist, hospitality, or customer service experience is preferred but not required.
• Bilingual: English/Spanish bilingual abilities are a plus.
• Cannabis Knowledge: Familiarity with the cannabis industry is a plus, but a willingness to learn is equally valued.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $16.90 - $17.50 per hour

Expected hours: 20.0 – 36.0 per week
