Front end Driver

Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and dependable Front End Driver to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating various types of commercial trucks, including front loader and roll-off trucks, to efficiently collect and transport waste materials. Your expertise in safe driving practices, mechanical knowledge, and adherence to traffic laws will ensure smooth route execution and exceptional customer service. Duties

• Operate front loader trucks, rear loader trucks, dump trucks, roll-off trucks, and tractor-trailers in compliance with all DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and state transportation laws.
• Safely load, unload, and transport waste materials, including municipal and hazardous waste, adhering to hazardous materials regulations.
• Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure mechanical integrity and safety protocol adherence.
• Follow designated routes for efficient collection schedules while maintaining awareness of traffic laws and safety procedures.
• Assist with the manual lifting of waste containers and perform heavy lifting tasks as needed during collection operations.
• Maintain accurate logs of deliveries, pickups, route details, and vehicle maintenance records.
• Provide excellent customer service by interacting professionally with clients during pickups and addressing any concerns promptly.

Qualifications

• Proven experience operating commercial trucks such as front loaders, rear loaders, dump trucks, roll-off trucks, or flatbeds.
• Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with necessary endorsements for air brake operation and manual transmission driving.
• Solid understanding of traffic laws, DOT regulations, hazardous materials regulations, and safety protocols related to heavy vehicle operation.
• Mechanical knowledge to perform routine vehicle inspections and minor repairs when necessary.
• Prior experience in municipal waste management or solid waste collection is preferred.
• Outdoor work experience with the ability to handle physically demanding tasks including heavy lifting.
• Strong commitment to safety protocol adherence and hazard awareness during all operations.
• Excellent driving skills with defensive driving techniques to ensure safety at all times.
• Ability to work independently on route driving assignments while maintaining punctuality and efficiency.

Pay: $23.53 - $28.34 per hour
