Front Office application support Engineer For Trading Systems

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide first and second line Front Office application support (not infrastructure support) for several systems in trading domain
• Diagnose and resolve day-to-day live system incidents across a range of systems.
• Take ownership of Major Incident management and associated Problem Management process.
• Ensure systems are in a healthy status and proactively identify patterns that can cause issues in future.
• Liaise with development teams for escalations and hand-overs.
• Maintain an up-to-date documentation of support processes.
• Prepare operational stats to identify problematic areas in the systems and work towards improving systems.
• Should be flexible with work timings (India and UK hours) along with providing on-call support on rotation basis.

Required Experience:

• Must have evident systems analysis skills ideally garnered within an energy, commodity or similar trading environment.
• Around 8-10 years of experience on Front Office application support role responsible for critical production applications.
• Must be able to write mid level SQL
• Must have written intermediate level scripting to automate support tasks and to make system improvements
• Must have experience managing incidents and service requests while providing timely status updates to business users.
• Must have excellent written/verbal communication skills, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Must have a good understanding of technology to be able to add value in maintenance/scripting and system and process improvements in general.
• Must have general understanding of software engineering and related technologies
