What they need
About Us
Gulf Coast Physical Therapy is a division of Gulf Coast Integrative Health. We bring physical therapists, mental health professionals, and family medicine physicians together to treat the whole person. We’re looking for people who want to break down the silos that usually separate medical professionals from each other.
The Role
You are the first point of contact for our patients and the person who keeps the clinic running smoothly. You’ll own the front desk: scheduling, insurance verification, collections, and administrative support for the clinical team. This role is for someone who has run a medical front desk before and can step in with minimal training.
Schedule
- Monday–Thursday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
- Fridays as needed (PRN)
- No weekends or holidays
Benefits
- Dental and vision insurance
- PTO and paid holidays
- Small-town clinic setting
Responsibilities
- Greet patients, check them in and out, and keep the clinic welcoming.
- Answer calls, respond to inquiries, and route messages.
- Schedule new and returning patients to keep provider calendars full and patient flow efficient.
- Manage appointment reminders, cancellations, and rescheduling.
- Collect copays, deductibles, and outstanding balances at check-in.
- Verify physical therapy benefits before the first visit, including coverage, visit limits, authorization requirements, and patient responsibility.
- Explain insurance information clearly to patients and document it in the practice management system.
- Keep patient demographics, intake forms, and required documentation accurate and complete.
- Assist the physical therapist or PTA as needed.
- Uphold HIPAA and clinic privacy standards.
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years of front desk experience in a medical office, physical therapy clinic, or other healthcare setting
- Hands-on experience verifying insurance benefits, including commercial plans, Medicare, and Medicaid
- Experience collecting payments and explaining patient financial responsibility
- Comfort working in an EMR or practice management system
Preferred
- Physical therapy or outpatient rehab front desk experience
- Experience with prior authorizations and visit-limit tracking
- Knowledge of medical terminology
