Front Office Python Engineer (Prop Trading)

We’re partnering with a fast-growing proprietary trading firm founded by former traders and engineers from a leading global trading house. Following several strong years, the firm is expanding its high-speed trading business across multiple asset classes.

They’re looking for a Python Engineer to sit alongside the trading desks in Singapore , working directly with traders to turn ideas into practical tools and help the desks enter new products and markets.

You’ll build across market data, pricing, strategy configuration and trading analytics, while shaping the Python foundations that support the firm’s growth. This is a hands-on role with direct exposure to trading and clear ownership of your work.

Required skills and experience

• Strong Python, writing clean, tested and maintainable code; comfortable with pandas, pytest, packaging, environments, typing and API/database integration.
• Sound engineering judgement, including modular design, configuration and improving existing codebases without disrupting users.
• Confident with Git and helping others adopt good development practices.
• Experience building internal tools and working closely with traders, researchers, analysts or operations teams.
• Clear communication, with the ability to translate business needs into practical technical solutions.
• Curiosity about markets and trading; previous finance experience isn’t essential.

Useful extras

• Exposure to ETFs, futures or market/reference data pipelines.
• Experience mentoring, teaching or writing technical documentation.
• Effective use of AI coding tools, with a critical eye for code quality.

Location: Singapore. Relocation support and visa sponsorship are available. This is an office-based role, working directly alongside traders on the trading desk.
