Front Service Crew - Waitress

About the role

Permai Rainforest Resort is seeking a dedicated Front Service Crew - Waitress to join our hospitality team in Kuching, Sarawak. This is a full-time position that plays a vital role in delivering exceptional guest experiences at our resort. As a Front Service Crew member, you will be responsible for providing attentive and professional service to our guests, ensuring their dining and beverage experiences are memorable and of the highest standard. This role is essential to maintaining our reputation for outstanding hospitality and contributes directly to guest satisfaction and loyalty.

Key responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly and seat them at designated tables in accordance with reservation procedures and guest preferences
• Present menus to guests and provide knowledgeable recommendations regarding food and beverage offerings
• Take accurate food and beverage orders from guests and communicate them clearly to the kitchen and bar staff
• Serve food and beverages promptly and courteously, following all food safety and presentation standards
• Ensure glasses are filled, tables are cleared promptly, and dining areas remain clean and organised throughout service
• Handle guest queries, requests, and complaints professionally and escalate issues to management when necessary
• Process payments and provide change accurately, using point-of-sale systems where applicable
• Maintain knowledge of current menu items, daily specials, and beverage options to assist guests effectively
• Comply with all health, safety, and hygiene regulations and resort policies at all times
• Assist with table setting, restocking supplies, and general station maintenance before and after service

What we're looking for

• Previous experience as a waitress or in a front-of-house service role within a hospitality establishment such as a restaurant, resort, or hotel
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage guests in a friendly and professional manner
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tables simultaneously
• Physical stamina and the ability to remain on your feet for extended periods during shifts
• Knowledge of food and beverage service standards, including understanding of menu items and dietary requirements
• Proficiency in using point-of-sale (POS) systems or willingness to learn quickly
• A positive attitude, flexibility, and willingness to work varied shifts including weekends and public holidays
• Fluency in English and Bahasa Malaysia; additional language skills or other regional languages are advantageous
• A commitment to maintaining high standards of personal hygiene and professional grooming
• Certification in food handling and safety is preferred but not essential
• Ability to make drinks and beverages will be an added advantage
