Role Purpose

We are seeking a senior developer / technical leader to own the frontend architecture and engineering direction of enterprise headless commerce experiences built on Salesforce Commerce Cloud (SFCC), PWA Kit, Managed Runtime, React, and SCAPI.

This role goes beyond feature delivery: you will set technical standards, guide solution design, lead complex implementations, influence client and internal stakeholders, and enable engineering teams to deliver scalable, resilient, secure, high-performing digital commerce platforms.

You will operate as a hands-on developer and technical authority across discovery, architecture, delivery, optimization, and continuous improvement, partnering closely with solution technical architects, backend engineers, UX/UI, QA, DevOps, product teams, and client technology leaders.

Key Responsibilities
Architecture Technical Direction: Own and evolve frontend architecture for large-scale SFCC PWA Kit storefronts, establishing patterns for modularity, extensibility, observability, security, and long-term maintainability.
Solution Leadership: Translate business and experience requirements into pragmatic technical solutions.
Hands-on Engineering: Design and implement critical application capabilities using React, Node.js, PWA Kit, SCAPI, and Managed Runtime.
Performance Experience Strategy: Lead strategy for Core Web Vitals, rendering, caching, hydration, data fetching, SEO, accessibility, and mobile-first performance across global storefronts.
Integration Architecture: Define robust integration patterns for payments, search, CMS, personalization, analytics, loyalty, identity, tax, and other commerce ecosystem services.
Engineering Standards: Establish and enforce standards for code quality, pull-request review, branching, release management, monitoring, documentation, and production readiness.
Technical Delivery Leadership: Partner with delivery and product leadership on estimation and technical planning.
Team Leadership Mentoring: Mentor mid-level and junior engineers through reviews and knowledge sharing.
Required Experience Qualifications
7+ years of professional frontend engineering experience.
5+ years of hands-on experience with SFCC. At least 1 full cycle implementation experience with PWA kit / headless commerce.
Expert-level proficiency in React, modern JavaScript (ES6+), and TypeScript.
Strong experience with Node.js and server-side rendering environments.
Deep understanding of headless commerce architecture and Salesforce Commerce Cloud APIs, particularly SCAPI / Shopper APIs and their use in complex storefront implementations.
Strong knowledge of web performance, Core Web Vitals, technical SEO, accessibility, responsive design, and mobile-first engineering.
Experience working in Agile delivery environments with ownership extending beyond individual feature implementation.
Strong communication skills.
Preferred / Differentiating Experience
Knowledge of SFCC data models, OCAPI/SCAPI coexistence, composable commerce patterns, and broader Salesforce Commerce Cloud ecosystem capabilities.
Experience integrating enterprise CMS platforms such as Contentful, Adobe Experience Manager (AEM), or comparable headless content platforms.
Experience contributing to technical discovery, solution shaping, effort estimation activities for large commerce programs.
Experience leading distributed or globally staffed engineering teams.
