About the Role

We're looking for a  Frontend Engineering Lead  who can architect, build, and scale the next generation of healthcare applications across web and mobile.

You'll work on products powering US primary care, including AI-powered medical documentation, intelligent front-desk agents, patient management, clinical workflows, revenue cycle management, and value-based care.

This is a  hands-on engineering leadership role with end-to-end ownership . You'll define frontend architecture, build high-performance applications, establish engineering standards, mentor engineers, and take products from concept to production.

You'll collaborate closely with product managers, designers, backend engineers, AI engineers, and clinical stakeholders to build intuitive, reliable, and scalable healthcare experiences.

What You'll Do

• Own Frontend Architecture:  Design and maintain scalable, high-performance frontend architectures across React web applications and React Native mobile applications.
• Build AI-Native Healthcare Experiences:  Develop intuitive interfaces for AI-powered medical scribes, conversational agents, clinical documentation, patient scheduling, billing, and healthcare operations.
• Lead Web and Mobile Development:  Architect, develop, deploy, and continuously improve production-grade applications across web, iOS, and Android.
• Engineer for Performance:  Optimize rendering, application responsiveness, data fetching, caching, bundle sizes, and Core Web Vitals to ensure seamless experiences in demanding clinical environments.
• Build Scalable Design Systems:  Establish reusable component libraries, shared application logic, frontend standards, and consistent user experiences across products.
• Integrate Real-Time AI Systems:  Build responsive interfaces for streaming AI outputs, real-time patient information, conversational experiences, and complex clinical workflows.
• Own End-to-End Product Delivery:  Take responsibility for frontend system design, implementation, testing, deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement.
• Lead Engineering Excellence:  Conduct code reviews, mentor frontend engineers, establish best practices, improve development workflows, and help grow the engineering team.
• Collaborate Across Teams:  Work closely with product, design, AI, backend, and clinical teams to translate complex healthcare requirements into simple, reliable user experiences.
• Build Secure Healthcare Applications:  Implement secure authentication, permission-aware interfaces, and appropriate handling of protected health information (PHI), aligned with HIPAA requirements.

What We're Looking For

• 6+ years of professional frontend engineering experience, with deep expertise in React, React Native, TypeScript, and modern JavaScript.
• Proven experience building, deploying, and maintaining production-grade web and mobile applications.
• Strong understanding of frontend system architecture, reusable component libraries, state management, and scalable application design.
• Hands-on experience with React Native development for iOS and Android, including application deployment, navigation, native integrations, and performance optimization.
• Strong understanding of frontend performance optimization, rendering, caching, asynchronous data fetching, and application responsiveness.
• Experience integrating REST APIs, authentication systems, and complex backend services into frontend applications.
• Experience with frontend testing frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, and maintaining high-quality production code.
• Proven ability to lead frontend engineering initiatives, conduct code reviews, mentor engineers, and establish technical standards.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to independently architect and own complex technical solutions.
• A product-oriented engineering mindset, with a willingness to take ownership beyond writing code.

Good to Have

• Experience building real-time applications involving WebSockets, streaming APIs, conversational AI, or voice-based interfaces.
• Familiarity with healthcare technology, EHR/EMR integrations, FHIR/HL7, HIPAA, or US healthcare operations.
• Experience with React Native ecosystems, including Expo, React Navigation, native modules, and over-the-air updates.
• Experience with frontend testing tools such as Jest, Vitest, React Testing Library, Playwright, Detox, or Maestro.
• Familiarity with monorepo architectures, shared component libraries, Nx, Turborepo, and design systems.
• Experience with native iOS or Android development using Swift or Kotlin.
• Understanding of accessibility standards and building inclusive, user-friendly applications.
• Experience working in early-stage startups and building products from the ground up.
