What they need
About Ipsos Askia
We are Ipsos Askia, we are passionate about technology and insights. Ipsos Askia's ambition is to power Ipsos with tailored solutions that generate actionable insights and unlock business growth.
We are a team of 65+ people working across France, Germany, Romania and the UK. What truly sets us apart is our culture of empowerment and ownership, harmoniously working together to create value. Our continuous quest for innovative solutions is aimed at proactively meeting the needs of the business.
About Ipsos Askia product – NGIE
Our goal is to make NGIE, our in-house platform, the primary survey data collection tool at Ipsos, replacing the current third-party solution. To achieve this, we are providing tools that collect information from respondents and address research objectives. We are expanding NGIE's capabilities in a scalable way to support business growth. Through daily collaboration and innovation, we steadily build confidence and fully unlock NGIE's potential to meet our clients' needs.
Position Overview
We’re looking for a highly skilled Front-end Developer with a strong grasp of modern web technologies and a passion for innovation. You will join an agile, cross-functional team and help evolve Askia’s data-collection platform using a modern full-stack JavaScript/TypeScript toolchain. Your work will focus on building flexible, maintainable, and extensible codebases that stay resilient as features grow.
Tech stack & ecosystem
Our main stack includes Svelte, SvelteKit, TypeScript, JavaScript (ESNext), Node.js, Vite, TailwindCSS, PostCSS, Vitest, Playwright, Storybook, Chromatic, Docker, and Google Cloud .
Development Philosophy
We build modern web applications using:
- Component-Driven Development (CDD) – isolate, document, and test UI components to encourage single-responsibility and reusability.
- Declarative & Reactive Programming – describe what the UI should look like, letting the framework handle the how, which reduces coupling and eases future extensions.
- Universal / Full-Stack JavaScript – leverage a single language across client and server for seamless SSR and API development, promoting clear contracts and predictable dependencies.
- Automated Quality – unit, integration, and visual-regression testing (Vitest, Playwright, Storybook/Chromatic) with CI/CD pipelines, ensuring that small, focused modules can evolve safely.
Responsibilities:
- Develop well-structured, reusable front-end interfaces for Ipsos Askia products according to specifications.
- Write maintainable and easily extendable code and libraries.
- Analyze existing solutions and propose incremental improvements for user experience and performance.
- Provide technical support (installation, administration, configuration, and maintenance) for developed applications.
- Monitor and evaluate emerging web technologies and advise on their potential use to keep designs open to enhancement.
- Debug and resolve issues reported by QA or Product Owners with a focus on clear boundaries and minimal side effects.
- Participate in agile ceremonies and contribute to specifications, development, and testing of the online suite front ends.
- Join technical and architectural discussions to implement loose coupling and clean abstractions.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience with front-end technologies and related component-based frameworks (React, Next.js, Vue, Nuxt, SolidJS, Astro). Svelte knowledge is a strong plus.
- 2 years' experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, and Node.js.
- Understanding of unit testing, modular architecture, and scalable design patterns. (Carbon Design System knowledge is a plus.)
- Experience with REST APIs, Git for version control, and basic Docker usage (Kubernetes exposure is a plus).
- Basic database knowledge.
- Excellent English communication skills.
- Collaborative mindset, strong interpersonal skills, and a proactive attitude toward designing for change and growth.
Benefits:
- Flexible Benefits platform (e.g. private pension, Kindergarten support, and more)
- Referral bonus
- Bookster subscription
- Wellhub subscription
- Employee Assistance Program.
