Frontend Engineer React - Freelance

Context

Collective.work is building an AI agent that automates recruiting workflows—from sourcing and screening to outreach and coordination. The mission is to shift repetitive recruiting work from humans to software, enabling faster, higher-quality hiring. The company operates at the intersection of:

Missions

• Build and maintain high-quality frontend applications using React
• Design intuitive interfaces for AI-driven workflows (search, matching, automation, pipelines)
• Collaborate closely with product and backend teams
• Translate product requirements into clean, scalable UI components
• Optimize performance and responsiveness
• Improve UX through iteration, testing, and user feedback
• Contribute to design systems and frontend best practices

• React
• Modern JavaScript (ES6+)

• Modern frameworks/tools (e.g., Next.js, Tailwind CSS) — bonus

Working Conditions

• Location: Brussels (hybrid: remote + in-person)

1. 3–6 years experience in frontend development
2. Strong proficiency in React and modern JavaScript (ES6+)
3. Experience with TypeScript
4. Solid understanding of state management, APIs, and frontend architecture
5. Strong attention to UX and product detail
6. Comfortable working in fast-paced startup environments
7. Based in or near Brussels, open to hybrid work
8. Bonus: Experience with modern frameworks/tools (e.g. Next.js, Tailwind CSS)
9. Bonus: Experience building data-heavy or workflow-based UIs
10. Bonus: Familiarity with AI/ML-powered products
