Fry Cook

Evergreen Eatery & Cafe is seeking a dependable and hardworking Fry Cook to support daily kitchen operations and prepare fried menu items according to established recipes and food-quality standards. This role involves operating fryers safely, preparing ingredients, monitoring cooking times, maintaining consistent food quality, and keeping kitchen work areas clean and organized. The ideal candidate is reliable, attentive to detail, and comfortable working in a fast-paced eatery and café environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook fried menu items according to recipes and kitchen procedures.
• Operate fryers and other kitchen equipment safely.
• Monitor cooking times, temperatures, and food quality.
• Prepare ingredients and supplies before service begins.
• Follow portion guidelines and maintain consistent food presentation.
• Coordinate with kitchen team members to complete orders accurately and promptly.
• Keep fryer stations, counters, and preparation areas clean and organized.
• Handle cooking oil according to established safety and maintenance procedures.
• Monitor food and kitchen supplies and communicate restocking needs.
• Store ingredients properly and follow food-handling guidelines.
• Follow food-safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.
• Assist with routine kitchen cleaning, opening, and closing duties.
• Work cooperatively with cooks, kitchen assistants, and other team members.

Qualifications

• Previous fry cook, line cook, restaurant, café, or food-service experience is helpful.
• Basic knowledge of food preparation and kitchen safety.
• Reliable, punctual, and responsible.
• Strong attention to food quality, cleanliness, and order accuracy.
• Able to follow recipes and written or verbal instructions.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Willingness to learn menu items and kitchen procedures.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Able to perform routine kitchen duties throughout a shift.
