Fry Cook

Pleasant Cafe is seeking a dependable and hardworking Fry Cook to support daily kitchen operations and prepare fried foods according to established recipes and food-safety standards. This role involves preparing ingredients, operating fryers safely, maintaining food quality, and keeping kitchen work areas clean and organized. The ideal candidate is reliable, attentive to detail, and comfortable working in a fast-paced café and restaurant environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook fried food items according to recipes and established procedures.
• Operate fryers and other kitchen equipment safely.
• Prepare ingredients and organize supplies before and during service.
• Monitor cooking times, temperatures, and food quality.
• Follow portion guidelines and presentation standards.
• Coordinate with kitchen team members to complete orders accurately and promptly.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and properly stocked workstation.
• Clean and sanitize cooking equipment, counters, and food-preparation areas.
• Monitor ingredients and communicate restocking needs to the appropriate team member.
• Store food items properly and follow food-handling procedures.
• Follow food-safety, sanitation, and workplace safety requirements.
• Assist with routine kitchen duties, opening, and closing tasks as assigned.
• Work cooperatively with cooks and other restaurant team members during busy periods.

Qualifications

• Previous fry cook, line cook, restaurant, café, or food-service experience is helpful but not required.
• Basic understanding of kitchen cleanliness and food safety.
• Reliable, punctual, and responsible.
• Able to follow recipes and written or verbal instructions.
• Good attention to cooking times, food quality, and order accuracy.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Able to keep work areas organized during busy service periods.
• Willingness to learn kitchen procedures and safe equipment operation.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
