FT Maintenance Technician (Open Availability Needed)

POSITION SUMMARY:

Primary function of the Maintenance Technician is to complete projects and repairs in regard to routine, preventative and emergency maintenance in the hotel as directed by the Chief Engineer.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Complete all tasks, work orders and special projects as assigned by Facilities Supervisor.
• Ensure that guests receive prompt, professional treatment and courteous service in response to their maintenance needs.
• Perform daily inspections to ensure property grounds and work areas are maintained to standard.
• Be aware that all safety equipment and conditions are up to code, report any of concern to the Chief Engineer, Facilities Supervisor or General Manager.
• Follow proper lockout/tagout procedures.
• Complete all preventative maintenance projects as assigned.
• As assigned, maintain, monitor, and test the hotel’s emergency and security systems, features and procedures.
• Be aware that all tools and equipment are in working condition, and up to code; report any concerns to the Chief Engineer or General Manager.
• Maintain the security of all equipment and tools.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of storerooms and workspaces.
• Maintain the grounds near the pool, Jacuzzi, sauna, fitness area and restrooms are on par with the standard meant to be maintained.
• Maintain grounds including snow services - shoveling, salting, snow-blowing, etc

Proficient in basic Building Services Engineering; including, but not limited to wall vinyl repairs, tile work, grouting, caulking, plaster, and painting.

• Perform property walks to ensure cleanliness, functionality and security.
• Complete assigned cleaning and maintenance requests as informed by the front desk.
• Reply to guest questions and handle any concerns.
• Setup maintain and refresh function room as required.
• Attend mandatory meetings & hotel functions.
• Comply with all company standards and policies, as established in the employee handbook.
• Other duties as required.

Requirements:

EDUCATION REQUIRED:

• A High School diploma or equivalent.
• College degree preferred.
• Building/Maintenance Certification a plus.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• 2 year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Previous hotel experience preferred, but not required.

SKILLS, AND CAPABILITIES REQUIRED:

• Experience with electrical and mechanical systems a plus.
• Working knowledge of HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Carpentry and Painting a plus.
• Knowledge of safety codes and tool usage a plus.

Software systems.

General Office equipment.

Electrical and manual tools appropriate to completing the project/maintenance required.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Able to bend, stoop, walk, crawl into awkward spaces and climb ladders.
• Able to see, talk and hear.
• Must be able to traverse property and facility to diagnose building issues and plan repairs or maintenance.
• Must be physically able to perform repairs when needed.

TYPICAL MENTAL DEMANDS:

• The ability to: listen, read, write, and speak, both clearly, and effectively ensures that the lines of communication are open between the Associates and guests at the hotel; and is absolutely essential. Customer service is our priority, so it is imperative that all Associates communicate to the best of their ability.
• The ability to perform basic mathematical functions: adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• The ability to apply the use of common sense & understanding in order to carry out instructions, whether in written, oral or diagram form.
• Must possess conflict resolution skills.
