FUEL PUMP TECHNICIAN

The above-mentioned vacancy exists at VOMS Industrial (Linbro Park) and will report to the Technical Manager. Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill this position

JOB REQUIREMENTS

The ideal applicant will possess the following: -

• Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
• Trade Test Certificate as Fuel Pump Technician from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of 5 years’ working experience as a Fuel Pump Technician.
• Experience in High Pressure Pumps, VP44 Pumps, Injectors, P-Type Pumps, and Governor with aneroid adjustment, KTS Fault Finding, VE Pumps, EUP Pumps
• Working knowledge of BOSCH – DCI 700 (Common Rail), EPS 815, EPS 625 and other types of test Benches.

JOB OUTPUTS

• Overhaul Pumps and Injectors for a variety of diesel engines.
• Strip, assess parts and reports.
• Reassemble Pumps and Injectors.
• Calibrate Pumps and Injectors on test benches.
• Attend to Dyno and brake down repairs.
• Use correct tools and procedures.
• Work according to ISO 9001 Standards.
• Complete required admin related documents and job cards.
• Train co-workers.

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Normal VOMS Industrial working conditions.

COMPETENCIES

KNOWLEDGE:

• Good knowledge of diesel engines.
• Good knowledge of Fuel Pumps and Injectors.
• Good knowledge of tools.
• Knowledge of safety standards.
• Knowledge of the OHS Act.
• Knowledge of SANS10166.
• Knowledge of an industrial workshop environment.

SKILLS:

• Ability to do diagnostics and fault finding on fuel pumps and injectors.
• Ability to understand pump and injector specifications.
• Ability to use tools.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Ability to work without supervision.
