Fuel Technician

Summary:

PKL Services Inc. is contracted to maintain and operate Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) F-15SG and United States Air Force (USAF) F-15E aircraft and equipment assigned to the 366th Fighter Wing located at Mountain Home AFB (MHAFB), Idaho. PKL employees at this site are subject to a Union/Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) regarding employment terms and work rules.

The Fuels Technician is responsible for maintenance, repair, and testing USAF/RSAF aircraft fuel systems, pylons, and components, storage and documentation of external aircraft fuel tanks and conformal tanks, as required.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

· Perform duties as defined by applicable Air Force Instructions (AFIs), along with any USAF like functions typically performed within the 2A6X4 associated career field.

· Perform maintenance, inspection, repair, and testing of USAF and RSAF F-15 aircraft fuel systems and components IAW aircraft/equipment specific TOs.

· Perform maintenance of external fuel tanks, conformal fuel tanks (CFTs), pylons and associated components for assigned aircraft.

· They shall refuel/defuel aircraft to facilitate fuel system maintenance.

· Shall support flight line personnel as requested and be responsible for repairing aircraft fuel system(s) on Wing assigned aircraft.

· Technicians shall ensure tanks are drained and purged IAW TO 6J3-3, 6J3-1 and 35-1-4, of all fuel and vapors for shipment and ensure AFTO Form 350, AFTO Form 95 and IMDS are properly documented.

· Ensures storage and documentation of external aircraft fuel tanks and CFTs as required.

· Shall ensure all safety procedures are followed and maintained.

· Any and all other duties as directed by the Program Manager/Site Manager.

Required educational/skills background:

· High School Diploma or equivalent.

· Must be authorized to work in the United States (U.S.).

· Prior qualified/certified 7-level Aircraft Fuels System technician (2A6X4) with a minimum of six (6) years’ experience or equivalent.

· Prior F-15 experience highly desirable.

· Must be able to obtain and retain a Secret security clearance.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

· This position requires normal physical functions. Work may require frequent bending, reaching, and climbing.

· May frequently lift and carry items weighing up to fifty pounds and occasionally lift heavier items with the assistance of other workers.

· Work may be performed on top or under equipment in cramped or awkward positions, including the F-15 cockpit.

· Must be able to pass a medical screening and have no limitations for respirator qualification.

· Must be able to maintain currency for confined space training IAW DAFMAN 91-203 and applicable TOs.

· Normal color/depth perception and no record of emotional instability are required.

· May be required to work in areas in or near a hangar/ flight line that may be noisy at times.

· May be exposed to moderate discomforts, such as heat, cold and wind.

· May be required to wear personal protective equipment when in or passing thru a hazardous area.

· Office and workshop environment, hangar and flightline

· The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud at times.
