We are seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Full Charge Bookkeeper to take ownership of day-to-day property accounting and the monthly close. The right candidate has hands-on AppFolio experience, understands trust accounting, and can maintain accurate books across multiple properties and entities with limited supervision.

This role is a strong fit for someone who enjoys owning the full accounting cycle, catches discrepancies before they become problems, and can turn clean financial data into reliable reporting for property managers, owners, and leadership.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Manage the full bookkeeping cycle in AppFolio, from transaction entry through monthly financial reporting

• Process accounts payable and receivable, post tenant receipts, prepare vendor payments, and maintain accurate tenant and owner ledgers

• Complete monthly bank, operating, security-deposit, and trust-account reconciliations, including three-way reconciliations where required

• Prepare journal entries, accruals, prepaids, and other month-end adjustments

• Produce timely profit-and-loss statements, balance sheets, cash reports, and owner statements

• Support owner distributions, move-in and move-out accounting, security-deposit activity, and tenant ledger research

• Coordinate payroll entries and maintain accurate supporting records

• Prepare year-end 1099 information and organized schedules for the company's CPA and tax filings

• Maintain clean audit trails, supporting documentation, and consistent accounting procedures

• Research discrepancies and communicate clearly with property managers, vendors, owners, and leadership

APPFOLIO EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED

This is not an entry-level AppFolio position. Candidates should be comfortable working independently in AppFolio and able to explain their experience with reconciliations, reporting, and property-management workflows.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Hands-on professional experience using AppFolio Property Manager

• At least 3 years of full-charge bookkeeping, property accounting, or a closely related role

• Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and internal controls

• Experience with trust accounting, bank reconciliations, general ledger maintenance, and month-end close

• Advanced attention to detail and the ability to meet recurring deadlines

• Clear written and verbal communication

• Ability to work on site in Torrance five days per week

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience supporting residential property management

• Experience with multiple legal entities and intercompany activity

• Bookkeeping or accounting certification

• Experience preparing schedules for external accountants, tax filings, or audits

• Strong Excel skills and confidence learning connected accounting tools
