ABOUT BUNCHUPS

Bunchups is a growing social activities platform built around community and real-world connection. Our app is live on the Apple App Store and Google Play, and we have a long list of things we want to build next.

THE ROLE

We are a small team, so this is not a ticket-taking job. We'll share the features list with you and you will own features from the first idea through to the store release: plan it, build it, test it, ship it. We'll provide the designs on Figma.

We want a developer who already builds with AI every day and uses it to ship faster without shipping junk. You review what the AI writes, you understand it, you test it, and you own the result. We provide a paid Claude subscription.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Build and ship features end to end across the mobile app, APIs and database

• Bring your own ideas: tell us what to build next and why, not just how

• Test your own work on real devices before it reaches users (our team tests the features on beta once you're done testing)

• Own releases on both stores: builds, submissions, review rejections and updates

• Keep the platform fast and stable: find bottlenecks, fix bugs, improve our AWS setup

• Backend: Node.Js

• API: NestJS

• Database: MYSQL

• Infrastructure: AWS Elastic Beanstalk, AWS RDS Aurora MYSQL, AWS CloudFront, AWS S3, AWS CloudWatch

• 3rd Party Services: getstream.io for messaging

• AI tooling: We currently use Open AI ChatGPT for activity categorisation on the app and title creation. And we'd like to use Chatgpt Codex or Claude Code to speed up the app development. (subscriptions provided)

WHAT YOU NEED

• At least one React Native app that you personally built and published to both the Apple App Store and Google Play, and that is live today

• Strong AWS architecture knowledge from running real production systems

• A daily AI-assisted development workflow, with examples of what you have shipped using it

• Product sense: you notice what is missing or clunky and suggest a better way

• Clear written and spoken English

• The discipline to manage your own time and deliver without being chased

2. Live App Store and Google Play links to apps you built and published, with one line on your exact role in each

3. Short answers (a few lines each) to these three questions:

a. Describe one feature you shipped using AI coding tools. What did the AI do, what did you have to fix, and how did you test it?

b. Describe an AWS setup you have run in production and one thing you changed to improve it.

c. Download Bunchups, then tell us one feature you would build or improve first, and why.

Applications without live store links and answers to all three questions will not be reviewed. Only applications sent by email to the address above will be considered.
