Full Stack / Backend Developer (.NET & Azure)

About the Role:

We are looking for a Full Stack / Backend Developer to design, build, and support scalable cloud-native applications on Microsoft Azure. The role is primarily focused on backend engineering, APIs, databases, cloud services, integrations, and technical solution design, with the ability to contribute to frontend development when required.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain applications using .NET, C#, SQL Server, and Azure services.
• Design, build, and support REST APIs and backend services.
• Develop secure, scalable, and maintainable application architectures.
• Design and optimise database structures, queries, and integrations.
• Build and maintain cloud-native solutions using Microsoft Azure.
• Collaborate with Product, UX, QA, and DevOps teams throughout the delivery lifecycle.
• Participate in solution design, estimation, code reviews, testing, and release activities.
• Troubleshoot and resolve application, integration, and production issues.
• Contribute to frontend development using React and Next.js where required.
• Take ownership of features from requirements through production deployment and support.

Required Skills

Backend Engineering:

• 2+ years of software development experience.
• Strong experience with C# and .NET/.NET Core.
• Strong experience designing and developing REST APIs.
• Strong knowledge of SQL Server, database design, and query optimisation.
• Experience integrating with third-party APIs and services.
• Understanding of authentication, authorisation, and application security best practices.
• Experience trouble shooting and supporting production applications.
• Strong understanding of software design principles, patterns, and clean code practices.

Azure & Cloud

• Experience with Microsoft Azure.
• Experience with Azure App Services.
• Experience with Azure SQL.
• Experience with Azure Storage Accounts.
• Experience with Azure Key Vault.
• Experience with Azure Functions.
• Understanding of cloud architecture, scalability, monitoring, and operational best practices.

Development Practices:

• Experience with Git, pull requests, and code review practices.
• Experience using Visual Studio and/or Visual Studio Code.
• Experience writing maintainable, testable, and reusable code.
• Understanding of CI/CD concepts and automated deployments.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with Azure DevOps, deployment pipelines, and infrastructure automation.
• Experience with Azure Service Bus and event-driven architectures.
• Experience with React and Next.js.
• Experience with Docker and containerised deployments.
• Experience with automated testing and quality engineering practices.
• Experience working in SaaS or product-led environments.
