Job#: 3056452 Job Description: Full Stack Designer Apex Systems is a global IT services provider, and our consulting practice has an opening for a Full Stack Designer with strong Java, Spring Boot, microservices, and application-design experience to support a Top Five Bank.

Client: Big 5 Bank

Location : Hybrid; 1- 2 days a week in Toronto

Terms : 12 Month Contract to Hire

Hours: 37.5 hours/week Monday-Friday, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm

Job Description Apex Systems is looking for a Full Stack Designer to design and develop enterprise applications supporting EDES (Early Detection and Exclusion Systems), Contact Centre Authentication, and AI-enabled customer engagement platforms across back-end services, APIs, microservices, and front-end components. This role will combine solution design with significant hands-on development and is focused on application development, cloud modernization, and AI integration. More than 50% of the role will involve hands-on development.

• Design and develop full-stack enterprise applications.
• Build Java/Spring Boot microservices and REST APIs.
• Develop back-end services and front-end application components.
• Create proofs of concept and code modifications to validate proposed solutions.
• Support application modernization and migration from on-premises to cloud services.
• Integrate Generative AI and Agentic AI capabilities into enterprise applications from a deployment and integration perspective.
• Use Python for automation, scripting, and validation.
• Translate business requirements into technical designs.
• Produce high-level designs and supporting design artifacts.
• Provide technical guidance throughout development, testing, deployment, and post-delivery support.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, developers, and solution designers.

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong hands-on experience with Java 17, 18, or 21.
• Strong experience with Spring Boot.
• Experience developing REST APIs and microservices.
• Full-stack application design and development experience, including front-end/UI development.
• Experience with Node.js.
• Experience with SQL Server.
• Experience with Azure and OpenShift.
• Experience with software and microservices design patterns.
• Experience supporting cloud migration or application-modernization initiatives.
• Experience developing proofs of concept and completing hands-on coding.
• Experience deploying or integrating Generative AI and Agentic AI capabilities.
• Experience with Python for automation, scripting, and validation.
• Experience with Bootstrap.
• Strong requirements-gathering and technical-design skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage changing or ambiguous requirements.

• Banking or financial-services experience.
• Familiarity with banking products and financial applications.
• Contact-centre experience.
• Experience with client-authentication or biometric solutions.
