Full-Stack Developer - AI Startup (Please read before applying)

Are you a junior in title? Ready to take the Lead Full-Stack role in a start-up?

We’re looking for a talented developer who may currently be in a junior role but is ready to step into a Lead Full-Stack Developer position - with broader responsibilities, the autonomy to shape technical decisions and meaningful ownership of a product.

You do not need a senior title or ten years of experience. We’re interested in what you have built, how you approach problems and whether you’re ready to take responsibility for something bigger.

You’ll work directly with the founder, help shape the product and drive its technical development.

What we’re building

Our ambition is to build a comprehensive recruitment platform combining hiring intelligence, an applicant tracking system (ATS) and client relationship management (CRM). We want you involved in shaping and developing it from the outset.

We see your role as much more than implementing features. We welcome your ideas, want you driving key technical decisions and will give you ownership of how the platform evolves.

What we’re looking for

You may currently be a Junior Full-Stack Developer, but you’re already taking responsibility beyond your title. You have built working applications, contributed to technical decisions and are ready to take greater ownership of a product.

• Practical full-stack experience. Around 2–3 years is a useful guide, but what you have built matters more than the number of years on your CV. Commercial projects, freelance work and substantial products you have developed yourself all count.

• Frontend development. Hands-on experience with TypeScript, JavaScript and React , alongside a solid understanding of HTML and CSS . You can build usable interfaces, improve existing layouts and resolve frontend issues.

• Backend development, databases and APIs. Experience with NestJS, Ruby on Rails or a comparable backend framework , together with PostgreSQL or another relational database . You are comfortable implementing backend logic, making database schema changes and building or integrating REST APIs .

• Experience shipping features end to end. You have taken features from database changes and backend logic through to the user interface, testing and production deployment. You use Git and are comfortable collaborating through GitHub or GitLab .

• Testing and code quality. You can write automated tests, diagnose bugs across the frontend and backend, refactor existing code and participate in code reviews. Familiarity with testing tools such as RSpec is welcome.

• Ownership and product thinking. You can clarify requirements, break a problem into manageable tasks, discuss technical options and turn feedback into working features. You’re comfortable communicating directly with the founder and contributing ideas—not just following instructions.

Useful additional experience

• Deployment and infrastructure: CI/CD pipelines, staging and production environments, Docker, and cloud deployment platforms such as Railway.
• Data and real-time functionality: Prisma, Redis, Socket.IO, or experience integrating a separate service into an existing application.
• Development methods and foundations: Agile workflows, sprint planning, MVC architecture and algorithms. Familiarity with Python or C++ is also welcome, but not essential.

You do not need to know every tool listed or have held a leadership title before. We’re looking for strong technical foundations, evidence that you can ship software and the initiative to step into a Lead Full-Stack Developer role.
