Our passionate team of startup serial entrepreneurs (Erik, Toon, Eric and Chris) created lex.be, a new innovative legal search platform based in Brussels. Lex.be aims to disrupt the traditional legal industry with new tools to enhance transparency, provide better insights and increase efficiency of the legal profession, while making a positive impact on society. Lex.be enables companies, citizens and legal pros to easily find relevant info to gain legal insights.

To support our growth (outside Belgium too), we are actively hiring full-stack developers to extend our platform and PHP web developers to focus on our UX.

You will have a central role in ensuring that our on-line platform and services offer a high quality front-end technical implementation with an optimal user experience.

Tools

We put great tools at your disposal and love to use PHPStorm as IDE (or IntelliJ). We typically share our thoughts, questions and code on Jira, Bitbucket and Slack. You shouldn't be afraid to touch a bit of elastic.co (Elasticsearch), Newrelic, Sensio labs Insight, APIs...

Full stack developer

• University level (or equivalent) or Bachelor with relevant experience
• Modern Java/Groovy experience (Spring Boot, JHipster, DropWizard, Grails, Play, ...)
• DevOps with experience building scalable web applications
• Passionate about open data, big data and legal data
• Knowledge of “progressive” web technologies (HTML5, CSS3, Javascript, jQuery, node.js, React, ...)
• Interest for data science / machine learning is a plus
• Write beautiful, efficient, maintainable code
• Mastering another programming language is appreciated
• Able to work independently in a complex, dynamic environment
• Must crave for an agile development environment (Scrum)
• A love for finding creative and thoughtful solutions to a variety of technical and product challenges
• Fluent in English (a bit of Dutch and French wouldn't harm either)
• Start-up minded and willing to work in an innovative entrepreneurial atmosphere
