What they need

Full Stack Developer (PHP and Front End) – Resolve Capital Group

Location: Islamabad, Pakistan (In office)

Reports to: UK

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am–5:30pm (UK Time)

Contract: Full-time

Salary: Competitive, based on experience

About Resolve Capital Group

Resolve Capital Group brings together a family of UK property and financial services businesses that support people through every stage of moving home, including:

  • AP Morgan – Estate agency
  • Chapter Law – Legal services
  • Wiser Mortgage Advice – Mortgage advice
  • Other associated businesses across the group, as they launch or grow

We are looking for a pragmatic, careful and detail-focused Full Stack Developer to join our in-house team.

This is a varied role working across our PHP-based API and the web front ends that support day-to-day operations across the group. You will build new features, improve existing ones and keep everything reliable. We are especially keen to hear from candidates with strong front-end skills to complement our existing backend experience.

The Role

You will be responsible for:

  • Designing, building and maintaining backend API endpoints in PHP.
  • Designing and building responsive, accessible user interfaces that consume those APIs.
  • Integrating with third-party platforms via REST APIs and webhooks.
  • Designing and maintaining database structures and writing efficient queries.
  • Building and monitoring scheduled background jobs.
  • Improving the usability and polish of existing screens.
  • Investigating and fixing bugs in a live environment, carefully and with minimal disruption.
  • Contributing to better development practices, including version control and deployment.
  • Communicating clearly with the UK-based team when requirements are unclear or an issue needs attention.

Working on Live Systems

This role requires care, sound judgement and a strong sense of responsibility.

Our systems are used every day by teams across the group, and they handle customer and business data for regulated businesses. Changes you make will affect real users and real transactions.

You must be able to work methodically in a live environment, test your changes properly, protect personal and sensitive data, and choose simple, maintainable solutions over unnecessary complexity.

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Pragmatic, preferring simple, maintainable solutions over unnecessary abstraction.
  • Careful, understanding that changes to live systems affect real users.
  • Interested in both how the system works underneath and how it looks and feels to the people using it.
  • Self-directed, with a good eye for detail.
  • Able to work independently while communicating effectively with a wider team.

Excellent written and spoken English is a key requirement for this position.

You will be working closely with our UK-based teams, discussing requirements and explaining technical issues to both technical and non-technical colleagues. You must therefore be confident communicating clearly and professionally in English.

Essential Experience & Skills

Backend

  • Strong PHP, with secure coding practices (prepared statements, input validation, output escaping).
  • Solid MySQL/MariaDB skills, including schema design and query optimisation.
  • Experience integrating with third-party APIs, including handling failures, retries and rate limits.
  • Good understanding of authentication, authorisation and general web security.
  • Comfortable working on Linux servers and with cron jobs.

Front end

  • Strong fundamentals in semantic HTML, modern CSS and JavaScript.
  • Hands-on experience with Tailwind CSS (or similar) and a lightweight framework such as Alpine.js.
  • Good UX and UI sense, including layout, forms, feedback states and error handling.
  • Responsive, mobile-first design, including touch-friendly interfaces.

General

  • Clear, readable, well-commented code.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to learn our systems, processes and standards.

Desirable:

Progressive Web App experience, including offline support; accessibility (WCAG) awareness; front-end performance tuning and cross-browser testing; experience with data-heavy interfaces such as tables, filters and dashboards; basic design skills (Figma or similar); Git-based workflows and structured deployments; exposure to AI or LLM APIs; or experience in a regulated or data-sensitive environment.

The Opportunity

This is an opportunity to join a small in-house team and shape the systems that run a growing group of UK property and financial services businesses.

You will have a varied role with responsibility across the full stack, from APIs and databases to the screens our teams use every day, and a real say in how we improve our development practices.

If you are pragmatic, careful, technically strong and take pride in building things that work well and look good, we would like to hear from you.

Trial Task

Shortlisted candidates will be asked to complete a short technical task. This may include building a small feature across a PHP API and a front-end screen, or reviewing and fixing existing code. It will assess your code quality, security awareness, front-end skills, attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
