Full stack Developer

The Opportunity:

We are looking for a hands-on Full Stack Developer to build, enhance and own our live eCommerce platform, from storefront and checkout experiences to APIs and backend integrations.

You will work across the front end, back end and integration layers, partnering with business and technology stakeholders to deliver new features, system enhancements and performance improvements, while keeping our platform stable, secure and fast. This role suits an experienced developer who enjoys solving technical challenges end to end in a production environment

How You'll Make an Impact:

• Build features end to end. Design, develop, test and deploy eCommerce enhancements across the stack, including storefront features, checkout optimisation, payment solutions and customer experience improvements.
• Develop APIs and integrations. Build and maintain RESTful/SOAP APIs and Spring Boot microservices that connect the eCommerce platform to backend systems (orders, inventory, pricing, customer data and product catalogues), payment gateways, shipping providers, CRM, ERP and marketing automation tools.
• Own the front end. Work with UX/UI designers to turn designs into responsive, accessible and high-performing storefront experiences.
• Optimise performance and scalability. Monitor and improve page load speed, API response time, checkout performance, database queries and overall reliability.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues. Debug problems across the platform, custom modules and extensions, APIs, third-party integrations and backend connectivity, and provide production support with internal teams and vendors.
• Manage releases and upgrades. Handle platform upgrades, security patches, releases and deployments through CI/CD pipelines, with minimal disruption to the business.
• Keep the platform secure. Apply eCommerce security best practices, including secure payment processing, data protection, encryption, SSL/TLS and PCI DSS requirements.
• Assure quality. Write unit, integration and system tests, conduct code reviews and perform impact analysis on proposed changes covering stability, performance, data integrity, security and customer experience.
• Collaborate and share knowledge. Work closely with the PMO, Change Team, QA, Core Platform, business users and vendors in an Agile environment, document technical specifications, and mentor fellow developers on best practices.
• Keep learning. Stay current with eCommerce technologies, emerging platforms and development trends.

What We're Looking For:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on full stack application development experience, preferably in an eCommerce environment.
• Back end: Strong PHP and MySQL/SQL, plus hands-on Java (J2SE, J2EE) experience with Spring Boot, including designing and building RESTful microservices.
• Front end: Strong JavaScript, HTML and CSS, with experience building responsive, cross-browser user interfaces.
• Data and APIs: XML, JSON, and RESTful/SOAP API design and consumption.
• Proven experience developing, enhancing and supporting live eCommerce platforms in production.
• Experience integrating eCommerce platforms with payment gateways, shipping providers, inventory systems, CRM, ERP and marketing automation tools.
• Hands-on experience with production deployment, troubleshooting, security patching, platform upgrades and performance optimisation.
• Familiarity with Git, CI/CD, deployment processes and DevOps practices.
• Knowledge of eCommerce security practices, including SSL/TLS, secure payment processing, data protection and PCI DSS.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with good communication and the ability to translate business requirements into practical technical solutions.
• Able to work independently and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external vendors.
• Work location: Bukit Jalil (nearby Pavilion Bukit Jalil)
• Working days: Monday to Friday (9am - 6pm)

Nice-to-have

• Experience with Magento 2.x / Adobe Commerce (highly preferred). Strong experience with other established eCommerce platforms will also be considered.
• A modern JavaScript framework such as React, Vue.js or Next.js, and/or TypeScript and Node.js.
• Experience with GraphQL, headless commerce or PWA storefronts.
• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or GCP), Docker, Redis, Elasticsearch/OpenSearch or Varnish.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams.
