Full-Stack Developer Intern

About the role

The AI Projects Lab develops internal platforms, web applications, mobile systems, AI-powered tools and automation used across CryoCord Group.

We are looking for a Full-Stack Developer Intern who wants practical experience building real software used inside an operating healthcare and biotechnology organisation.

This is not intended to be an internship where you only observe the development team or work on isolated training exercises. You will work alongside our engineers on real applications, features and internal systems.

Depending on your abilities, you may contribute across frontend development, backend development, APIs, databases, mobile applications, integrations, UI/UX and AI-enabled features.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in developing and improving web-based and internal business applications.
• Build frontend interfaces that are clean, responsive and easy to use.
• Assist with backend development, APIs, databases and system integrations.
• Work with modern frameworks such as React, Next.js, TypeScript and related technologies.
• Help develop mobile-friendly and responsive application experiences.
• Translate UI/UX designs and business requirements into working software.
• Test new features, identify bugs and improve application reliability and performance.
• Work with APIs and connect internal systems with external platforms and services.
• Assist with database design, data handling and application logic.
• Use modern AI development tools to assist with coding, debugging, research and development.
• Review and test AI-generated code rather than relying on generated output without validation.
• Work with engineers and internal departments to understand operational problems and develop practical solutions.
• Participate in technical discussions, code reviews and project planning.
• Document development work and technical decisions so systems can be maintained by the wider engineering team.
• Follow CryoCord's security, privacy and data-protection requirements.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Web Development or a related discipline.
• Strong interest in full-stack software development.
• Some practical development experience through university projects, personal projects, freelance work, hackathons or previous internships.
• Exposure to some of the following technologies is preferred: JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Next.js, Node.js, Python, REST APIs, SQL, PostgreSQL or similar databases.
• Basic understanding of frontend and backend development.
• Understanding of responsive web design and modern UI development.
• Familiarity with Git or version-control systems is an advantage.
• Experience using AI coding tools such as ChatGPT, Codex, Claude, Cursor or similar tools is an advantage.
• Ability to learn new technologies quickly.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Able to communicate clearly and work collaboratively with technical and non-technical colleagues.
• Good command of spoken and written English.

We do not expect interns to already know the entire technology stack. We are more interested in candidates who can demonstrate that they have built something, understand the fundamentals and can learn quickly.
