We are working with a major financial services organisation undergoing a significant Agile transformation and looking for an experienced Full Stack Developer (Java & React) to join a high-performing product team.

You will be part of a cross-functional Agile squad responsible for delivering and enhancing digital banking solutions used by enterprise customers. Working across both frontend and backend technologies, you'll contribute to the full software development lifecycle while helping shape modern cloud-based products.

The Role

As a Full Stack Developer, you will work within a multidisciplinary Agile team made up of business and technology professionals. You will be involved in both development and operational activities, contributing to the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of enterprise-grade applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Translate business and technical requirements into high-quality, maintainable code
• Design, build, and maintain scalable and reliable applications
• Develop backend services using Java and Spring Framework
• Build and enhance frontend applications using React
• Collaborate closely with Product Owners, Analysts, Developers, and QA teams
• Integrate with external systems, APIs, and data sources
• Ensure application performance, quality, security, and responsiveness
• Apply coding standards, development best practices, and clean code principles
• Troubleshoot, identify bottlenecks, and resolve defects
• Participate in DevOps activities, including CI/CD pipeline implementation and maintenance
• Contribute to API automation testing as part of development activities

Required Technical Skills

Essential

• Strong commercial experience with:
• Java
• Spring Framework
• React
• Maven
• Relational databases
• Experience building and consuming REST APIs
• Swagger/OpenAPI (YAML)
• Git version control
• CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or equivalent
• Experience with code quality and security tools such as:
• SonarQube
• Fortify
• Nexus IQ
• Similar SAST solutions

Desirable

• Docker and containerisation technologies
• Groovy
• Cloud-based application development
• Mobile application development exposure
