Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced Full Stack Developer with strong expertise in Next.js, React, TypeScript, and Node.js to take ownership of our e-commerce platform's technical development and maintenance.

This role is ideal for a self-driven developer who can independently manage the complete product development lifecycle, from maintaining existing functionality and resolving production issues to designing new features, improving performance, and implementing third-party integrations.

As the primary technical owner of the platform, you will have the autonomy to make architectural decisions, manage deployments, and ensure the platform remains secure, scalable, reliable, and optimized for performance.

Key Responsibilities

1. Platform Maintenance & Troubleshooting

• Maintain and improve the stability, reliability, and functionality of the existing e-commerce platform.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve production bugs, technical issues, and application errors.
• Refactor existing code, address technical debt, and improve overall code quality.
• Monitor application health and proactively identify potential performance or reliability issues.

2. Feature Development & Enhancements

• Design, develop, test, and deploy new features using Next.js, React, TypeScript, and Node.js.
• Enhance existing functionality and build new modules based on business requirements.
• Implement and maintain e-commerce features, including product catalogs, shopping carts, checkout processes, and order management.
• Integrate payment gateways and other third-party services as required.

3. Performance, Scalability & Reliability

• Optimize frontend and backend performance to ensure fast page loads and a smooth user experience.
• Ensure critical user journeys, particularly cart, checkout, and payment processing, function reliably.
• Improve application scalability and stability during periods of high traffic.
• Follow best practices for application security, error handling, and production monitoring.

4. Database & API Management

• Design, maintain, and optimize database schemas, queries, and data operations.
• Manage integrations with payment gateways, shipping providers, inventory systems, and other external APIs.
• Develop and maintain reliable backend APIs and services.
• Ensure data consistency, integrity, and secure handling of transactions.

5. Technical Ownership & Deployment

• Take end-to-end ownership of the platform's technical architecture, development, and maintenance.
• Make independent decisions regarding technology, architecture, implementation, and deployment.
• Manage application deployments, production releases, and ongoing updates.
• Identify opportunities to improve development workflows, system reliability, and maintainability.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate requirements into practical technical solutions.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• 4+ years of professional experience in full stack web development.
• Strong hands-on experience with Next.js, React.js, TypeScript, and Node.js in production environments.
• Proven experience developing, maintaining, or scaling e-commerce applications.
• Solid understanding of e-commerce workflows, including shopping carts, checkout systems, order processing, and payment integrations.
• Experience integrating payment gateways such as Stripe or similar payment providers.
• Practical experience with relational or NoSQL databases, such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or equivalent technologies.
• Experience with application deployment and hosting platforms such as AWS, Vercel, or similar environments.
• Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Understanding of REST APIs, third-party integrations, authentication, and web application security.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and take responsibility for production systems.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience maintaining and improving an existing, live e-commerce platform.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Git-based workflows, logging, monitoring, and production debugging.
• Experience optimizing website performance, Core Web Vitals, and database queries.
• Knowledge of payment security, transaction reliability, and error-handling best practices.
• Experience making technical and architectural decisions with minimal supervision.

Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who is technically strong, proactive, and comfortable taking complete ownership of a product's engineering needs.

You should be able to work independently, identify problems before they become major issues, deliver features efficiently, and make sound technical decisions without relying on a large engineering team.

This is a hands-on technical ownership role, not a purely managerial position. You will be directly involved in coding, debugging, feature development, deployment, and continuous platform improvement.
