We’re hiring a Full Stack Developer for a UK Government digital programme, and we want someone who’s done this before and knows their way around a GOV.UK service. 🇬🇧

🌲 The deal

🌳 £360 per day, inside IR35

🌳 100% remote, with no travel at all (your slippers are approved 🩴)

🌳 BPSS clearance only, so no long SC wait

🌳 ASAP start

🌳 Runs until end of March/April, so you’re sorted through winter ❄️

🌳 Building citizen-facing services from front end to back end

🌳 Crafting accessible, user-friendly pages with the GOV.UK Design System

🌳 Writing solid back-end services in Java and Spring Boot

🌳 Shaping cloud infrastructure with AWS and Terraform

🌳 Writing tests that let the whole team sleep at night 😴

🌲 Your toolkit

🌳 Front end: Node.js, JavaScript, Express.js, Nunjucks, GOV.UK Design System

🌳 Back end: Java, Spring Boot

🌳 Data: MongoDB

🌳 DevOps: Terraform, AWS

🌳 Testing: Jest, Gherkin (BDD)

🌳 Plus: a bit of scripting magic 🪄

🌲 Must-haves

🌳 Prior UK Government experience. This is essential! 🇬🇧

🌳 Strong Node.js/Express AND Java/Spring Boot skills

🌳 Commercial full-stack experience

🌳 Hands-on MongoDB, AWS and Terraform

🌳 A test-first mindset (Jest and Gherkin/BDD)

🌳 Able to obtain BPSS clearance

🌳 Available to start ASAP

🌲 Big bonus points for

🌳 GOV.UK Design System and Nunjucks experience

🌳 Having shipped services to GDS standards
