Full Stack Developer (PHP/Laravel) – Mid-Level

Job Overview

We are looking for a Mid-Level Full Stack Developer with strong PHP skills and hands-on experience using the Laravel framework to join our team. The ideal candidate has 2–3 years of professional development experience, a solid understanding of web application development, and the ability to work independently on assigned tasks while collaborating with the team.

We are looking for someone who is beyond the entry-level stage but is not a senior developer. The right candidate should have practical work experience, a good technical foundation, and the willingness to learn and grow with the team.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and improve web applications using PHP and Laravel.
• Build and maintain backend functionality, RESTful APIs, and database integrations.
• Develop and maintain frontend applications using Angular.
• Knows Vue inertia and blade templating components.
• Write clean, organized, and maintainable code.
• Troubleshoot bugs, resolve technical issues, and improve application performance.
• Integrate third-party APIs, webhooks, and external services.
• Implement authentication, authorization, and application security measures.
• Manage scheduled tasks, background jobs, and queue processing.
• Collaborate with the development team to implement features and improvements.
• Write and execute tests to ensure application functionality and reliability.
• Participate in code reviews and follow established development standards.
• Assist with deployment workflows and production troubleshooting.

Required Qualifications

• 2–3 years of professional experience in full stack or web development.
• Strong proficiency in PHP 8.2 or later.
• Hands-on experience with Laravel 11 or later.
• Strong hands-on experience with Angular for frontend development.
• Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
• Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Experience with relational databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL.
• Understanding of authentication, authorization, and JWT.
• Proficiency with Git and GitLab for version control.
• Experience with Laravel queues, background jobs, cron jobs, and scheduled tasks.
• Familiarity with Docker and containerized development environments.
• Ability to troubleshoot issues and complete assigned tasks with minimal supervision.
• Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate with a remote team.
• Willingness and availability to work during US business hours (night shift in the Philippines).

Additional Backend Requirements

• Understanding of Laravel architecture, including service classes, middleware, dependency injection, and Eloquent ORM.
• Experience with database design, migrations, relationships, transactions, indexing, and query optimization.
• Ability to build secure APIs with validation, pagination, and proper error handling.
• Experience with webhook processing and third-party API integrations.
• Familiarity with caching mechanisms, preferably Redis.
• Familiarity with automated testing using PHPUnit or Pest.
• Understanding of application security, logging, exception handling, and debugging.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI/CD or GitHub Actions.
• Ability to identify common performance issues and write efficient, maintainable code.

Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a reliable, hands-on developer who can implement features, fix bugs, and maintain existing applications without requiring constant supervision. They should have a solid foundation in Laravel backend development and Angular frontend development, be comfortable asking questions when needed, and be willing to learn from more experienced team members.

This is a mid-level individual contributor role, not a senior or lead developer position. We value practical skills, problem-solving ability, teamwork, and a willingness to grow over extensive senior-level experience.
