Success in this role requires versatility across multiple technology stacks and a willingness to take ownership of technical implementation from concept through live operations.
Who We Are
The Institutional Investment Group (2IG) is one of the leading independent investment platforms for real estate and real assets in Germany and Europe. With around 350 employees, 2IG manages more than EUR 50 billion in assets across approximately 25 countries.
To further develop and market a neutral B2B content platform into the leading industry platform for Real Assets in Europe, we are looking for a Full Stack Developer who will independently maintain, enhance, and expand our existing technical infrastructure.
Our team offers the freedom and creative opportunities of a start-up, combined with the advantages of an established corporate group with a stable business model.
Your Role
You will take ownership of an already established and productive technical infrastructure and continue its development with a high degree of responsibility, working closely with the Head of Communication. You will act as the domain expert for your area.
Your core strength is bridging business requirements and technical implementation. You independently translate business needs into sustainable technical solutions and think across multiple interconnected systems.
AI coding tools (e.g., Claude Code, GitHub Copilot) are an integral part of our day-to-day work. They support your work but do not replace solid technical understanding.
<h2>Your Responsibilities and Opportunities</h2>
Headless WordPress Platform
The most complex project in our stack: PHP backend, Next.js/TypeScript frontend, deployed to Ubuntu VPS via GitHub Actions.
<ul>
<li>Develop and maintain the content platform (frontend and backend)</li>
<li>Own the entire deployment workflow from local development through staging to production, including ongoing post-launch adjustments</li>
<li>Select, implement, and adapt WordPress plugins and existing features</li>
<li>Maintain our additional WordPress websites</li>
<li>Ensure quality, performance, and security across all websites</li>
<li>Collaborate with our graphic designer and communications team</li>
</ul>
AI Agent Content Platform
<ul>
<li>Further develop our AI agent built with Claude Code, based on a RAG architecture (Qdrant)</li>
<li>Maintain various tool integrations, webhooks, and APIs hosted via n8n</li>
<li>Demonstrate a solid technical understanding of how embeddings, vector search, and tool orchestration work together, beyond basic prompt engineering</li>
</ul>
n8n Automations
<ul>
<li>Operate and expand numerous workflows of varying complexity, ranging from simple trigger-action chains to business-critical processes (including the AI agent and automated processing of press information from email to WordPress)</li>
<li>Confidently work with branching logic, error handling, and chained API calls</li>
</ul>
Twenty CRM (Self-Hosted)
<ul>
<li>Manage the complete self-hosted VPS deployment, including database relationships, APIs, and webhooks</li>
<li>Support data maintenance and audience building for mailing campaigns</li>
</ul>
Performance Marketing &amp; Automation
<ul>
<li>Design and implement fully or partially automated marketing campaigns (e.g., email and social media marketing)</li>
<li>Develop automated SEO and LLMO strategies</li>
<li>Continuously analyze and optimize campaigns based on defined KPIs</li>
<li>Extend Matomo tracking and connect it with user databases and media channels such as LinkedIn to build a comprehensive customer data hub</li>
<li>Evaluate and integrate suitable marketing automation tools and create relevant reporting</li>
</ul>
SEO &amp; GEO – Automated Execution
Our content platform should be discovered not only by traditional search engines but also by AI-powered answer systems as a trusted source of Real Asset expertise.
<ul>
<li>Design and technically implement the SEO and GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) strategy</li>
<li>Build automated workflows for on-page optimization, including structured data and Schema.org markup, metadata, internal linking, sitemaps, and rendering/crawling optimization for the Next.js frontend</li>
<li>Prepare content for optimal consumption by LLMs and AI search systems (including chunk-friendly structures, entity clarity, source transparency, llms.txt, and AI crawler access management)</li>
<li>Establish automated visibility monitoring for both traditional rankings and mentions/citations in AI-generated answers, including reporting to business stakeholders</li>
</ul>
<h2>Your Profile</h2>
Must-Have Qualifications
<ul>
<li>Approximately 2-3 years of practical professional experience (mid-level) in web development</li>
<li>PHP: Backend development, particularly within headless WordPress environments</li>
<li>JavaScript / TypeScript: Frontend development, including Next.js</li>
<li>Solid WordPress expertise (themes, plugins, hooks, APIs, custom post types)</li>
<li>Server and infrastructure fundamentals, including Ubuntu VPS, deployment workflows, and DNS</li>
<li>Basic Git and CI/CD knowledge (GitHub Actions): maintaining and working with existing pipelines; deep DevOps expertise is not required, but understanding how things work is</li>
<li>Versatility over specialization: the ability to work across multiple technology stacks simultaneously without requiring deep specialization in a single area</li>
<li>Excellent English communication skills (German is a strong advantage</li>
</ul>

<li>Strong understanding of UI/UX and attention to design details</li>
<li>Experience with performance marketing, marketing automation tools (CRM, CDH, email marketing), and data analytics</li>
<li>Interest in financial topics</li>
</ul>
How You Work
<ul>
<li>Systems Thinking: You understand how changes in one component affect other systems and think in terms of interconnected architectures rather than isolated solutions.</li>
<li>Translation Skills: You independently translate business requirements into technical solutions.</li>
<li>Ownership: You proactively propose and implement technical solutions within your area in close coordination with the Head of Communication.</li>
<li>Strong Communication: You communicate clearly with business stakeholders. Both autonomy and alignment are equally important to us.</li>
<li>Structured and Detail-Oriented: Combined with creativity, solution-oriented thinking, and strong teamwork.</li>
</ul>
What This Role Is Not
We are explicitly not looking for someone with deep specialization in a single stack only.
If you do not enjoy working flexibly across PHP, JavaScript/TypeScript, server administration, automation, and AI integration, this role is unlikely to be the right fit. The essence of this position is confidently operating across multiple domains.
<h2>What We Offer</h2>
Flexible and Hybrid Working
A hybrid model with one fixed team day per week in Frankfurt am Main and full remote flexibility on all other days. Flexible working hours are part of our culture. What matters most is reliable collaboration and excellent results.
AI-First Working Environment
For us, AI-first is not a buzzword but a principle that shapes how we work. You will have access to premium AI tools and the freedom to explore and productively apply new use cases in a controlled environment.
Growth and Feedback
We provide regular structured feedback and support your professional development, both in your role and within the company.
Attractive Compensation
We offer a competitive compensation package reflecting your experience, responsibilities, and contribution to the continued development of our technology landscape.
Structured Handover
You will take over projects through a structured and orderly handover phase with the current role holder.
<h2>Interested?</h2>
We look forward to receiving your application. Feel free to include references to projects, repositories, or other work examples that showcase your skills and approach to development.
