Full-Stack DevOps Engineer

About the role

Vireon is building the power distribution hardware and industrial intelligence platform that enables factories to operate in a safe, efficient and reliable manner by combining IoT hardware, edge computing and data science. Our cloud platform ingests, stores and serves electrical intelligence data streamed from thousands of industrial sensors deployed across India. This is a hands-on role — you'll own the platform end-to-end, from a developer's git push to a secure, cost-efficient system running in production.

What you'll work on

• Design, build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for backend services, firmware releases and ML model deployment.
• Own cloud infrastructure on GCP or AWS.
• Manage and scale the MQTT ingestion layer (AWS IoT Core / self-hosted EMQX clusters) handling telemetry from thousands of connected industrial devices.
• Operate and tune the data infrastructure (TimescaleDB, ClickHouse, S3/Glacier).
• Build and maintain monitoring, alerting and observability — metrics, logs, traces — across the platform.
• Lead the migration path from managed GCP/AWS services toward a portable Kubernetes-based stack (EMQX, ClickHouse, TimescaleDB, MinIO) as the company scales.
• Design infrastructure for multi-tenancy, with per-customer and per-site data isolation baked into every layer.
• Own platform security fundamentals: mTLS, secrets management, per-customer encryption keys, and secure OTA delivery pipelines for edge firmware.
• Manage cloud cost efficiency as the device fleet scales from roughly 100 to 100,000+ devices.
• Build and maintain full-stack tooling — backend APIs and internal dashboards — for engineering and operations.
• Participate in on-call rotation and incident response for production systems.

Must have

• 3+ years in DevOps, SRE or Platform Engineering, ideally supporting IoT or high-throughput data platforms.
• Strong hands-on experience with GCP or AWS.
• Proficiency with Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform or equivalent) and containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins or similar).
• Working knowledge of time-series and analytical databases (TimescaleDB, ClickHouse, PostgreSQL).
• Familiarity with MQTT-based messaging infrastructure (EMQX, AWS IoT Core or similar) at scale.
• Full-stack development ability — backend services in Python, Node.js or Go, plus basic internal dashboard tooling.
• Experience with monitoring/observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenSearch/ELK, Datadog or similar).

Good to have

• Multi-tenant SaaS architecture and per-customer data isolation.
• IoT device fleets, OTA firmware delivery, or edge-to-cloud protocols (MQTT, Sparkplug B).
• Migrating from managed cloud services to portable, self-hosted Kubernetes stacks.
• Security practices for regulated industrial customers — mTLS, secure elements, encryption key management.
• Operating systems at IoT scale (1,000 → 100,000+ connected devices).

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹70,000.00 per month
