About the Role

Bright Vision Technologies is seeking a Lead Python Engineer to design, develop, and enhance enterprise-grade applications, data-intensive services, and automation platforms. This is a hands-on engineering role focused on building secure, scalable, high-performance Python systems that operate reliably in distributed and mission-critical production environments.

The successful candidate will bring strong Python development expertise, sound software architecture knowledge, and experience with data engineering and production support. You will collaborate with product, data, and infrastructure teams to translate complex business requirements into reliable technical solutions, investigate root causes of production issues, and improve engineering practices across the team.

This is a full-time, direct W-2 position that is 100% remote within the United States.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, maintain, and enhance enterprise-grade applications and services using Python.
• Build scalable, secure, and high-performance systems that meet demanding production availability and reliability requirements.
• Contribute to system architecture, application design, development, automated testing, release management, and ongoing operational support.
• Design and optimize relational database schemas and queries using platforms such as Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or Sybase.
• Apply data structures, algorithms, and computational efficiency principles to make sound engineering decisions.
• Troubleshoot complex production issues, identify root causes, and implement effective long-term solutions.
• Develop and maintain automated tests to support software quality, reliability, and maintainability.
• Apply Agile methodologies, CI/CD practices, application resiliency patterns, and secure coding standards.
• Collaborate with product, data, infrastructure, and business teams to define requirements and deliver technical solutions.
• Manage multiple concurrent projects in changing environments while keeping stakeholders informed of progress and technical considerations.
• Use shell scripting and command-line tools to support development and operational tasks where required.
• Apply relevant mathematical and statistical concepts to software development and data-related problems.
• Contribute to continuous improvement in software architecture, application performance, and engineering standards.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• 5+ years of applied Python development experience in enterprise-grade environments.
• Strong experience building and maintaining large-scale production applications with significant uptime and reliability requirements.
• Hands-on experience with relational databases such as Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or Sybase, including query optimization and schema design.
• Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, release, and ongoing support.
• Practical experience in system design, application development, automated testing, and production operations.
• Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and computational efficiency, with the ability to evaluate technical trade-offs.
• Demonstrated experience debugging and maintaining complex enterprise applications in production.
• Understanding of Agile methodologies, CI/CD practices, application resiliency patterns, and secure coding standards.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in dynamic, fast-changing environments.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and business stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong shell scripting skills in UNIX/Linux environments and familiarity with command-line tools.
• Knowledge of mathematical and statistical concepts and the ability to translate them into code.
• Hands-on experience with Python data science and machine learning libraries, including NumPy, Pandas, SciPy, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, and PyTorch.
• Exposure to AWS cloud services and cloud-native storage technologies, including Amazon S3, RDS, DynamoDB, and Glue.

Work Arrangement and Employment Type

This is a 100% remote position within the United States. The position is full-time and offered on a direct W-2 basis.

Compensation

The advertised annual salary range is listed as $750,000–$95,000. This range appears inconsistent and should be confirmed with the employer.
